Crisis on Death Mountain is a quest in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Imprisonment, where you fend off enemies attacking the forces of Gorons. This quest is quite straightforward. However, you still need to know some enemy counters and strategies to make this quest easier to clear. That said, this section is also where you unlock Agraston. He mainly deals fire damage but also comes with a shield breaker effect on his skillset.

His AoE attack is perfect for this stage, where swarms of enemies will try to stop you from progressing.  To help you out, here is a walkthrough for the Crisis on Death Mountain quest in Hyrule Warriors Age of Imprisonment.

How To Complete the Crisis on Death Mountain Quest in Hyrule Warriors Age of Imprisonment

Rescue Goron Soldiers

Your first objective is to rescue a group of Goron Soldiers. The areas where you can find them are marked on your map. Simply head to the location and clear the enemies. However, you’ll first have to get past several outposts overrun by enemies. Some areas will also be blocked by giant rocks. Fortunately, Agraston can easily break these walls down and clear a path. It is best to bring in units with water and ice attacks.

Defeat Fire Moblin

In the first area, you will encounter a Fire Moblin. Try and freeze the enemy before shattering them with a heavy attack for extra damage. Once you defeat the enemy, you can set up camp and prepare for your next objective.

Defeat Fire Hinox

Once you’re done with the first marked location, proceed further into the map. There will be massive waves of enemies blocking your path. The best way to clear them is through AoE attacks.

Once you reach the next marked location, you will come face-to-face with a Fire Hinox. It will be guarding the area along with swarms of enemies, so you need to take them down before you can proceed. Just like the previous one, use ice or water attacks along with shield-breaking attacks to defeat the target.

Defeat Igneo Talus

Continuing your journey to rescue the second group of Goron Soldiers, you’ll encounter an Igneo Talus. You can’t proceed to the next area without defeating this enemy. Fortunately, it does have the same weakness to ice and water as the other major enemies.

Make sure to use these elements to your advantage while also throwing some shield-breaking attacks. This will damage its weak-point gauge, giving you the upper hand in the battle. Don’t forget to grab the treasure chest after defeating the giant golem.

Find Another Way To Reach the Gorgon Soldiers

Once you defeat the Igneo Talus, you need to press forward. However, the shortest route to your goal is blocked by lava. This will force you to take the long route in the northern area of the map. You will have to go through the abandoned Gorgon mine. Keep an eye out for cracked walls. Breaking them using Agraston will reveal a secret room.

Heading deeper into the area, you will encounter a Fire Boss Bokoblin. You already know by now that you can use ice or water attacks to make quick work of this enemy. Once you defeat the boss, proceed further, and you’ll encounter the last group of enemies.

Defeat Fire Lynel

There are two Fire Lynels guarding the outpost. You have a chance to take the first hit before they notice you. Use a Frost Emitter, which will stagger them and give you time to free hit before they recover.

If you can, try and keep the two of them in one place so you can deal damage to both targets. Otherwise, you can focus on one target before moving to the next one. Dividing your attention will only make it more confusing. This is why you either hit them with AoE attacks or defeat them one at a time.

Hyrule Warriors Crisis on Death Mountain Quest Rewards

Completing the Age of Imprisonment in Hyrule Warriors Age of Imprisonment unlocks Agraston as a playable character. He has two special actions. The first one is Erupting Strike, where he slams his sword, then does an upward swing that deals damage. The second one is Wild Crash, where he rolls forward, slamming into enemies in his path.

His Unique Special ability is Flame Burst which hurls a ball that explodes on impact. It’s a good way to move around when surrounded by waves of smaller enemies. Other than that, each enemy you defeat will give EXP to both your team and weapons. Once the quest is complete, you proceed with the Under the Cover of Mist quest in Hyrule Warriors Age of Imprisonment.
