Flurry Rush is one of the most important combat mechanics in modern The Legend of Zelda games. In both The Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, Flurry Rush serves as an incredibly powerful skill for Link that can help you take down enemies like Lynels in mere seconds. However, much like parries, Flurry Rush is a high-risk-high-reward skill.

Although Hyrule Warriors Age of Imprisonment isn’t a mainline The Legend of Zelda game, it does feature Flurry Rush as one of the combat skills. However, given the game’s Musou nature, Flurry Rush can get easily overlooked by most players.

Here’s everything you need to know about the Flurry Rush in Hyrule Warriors Age of Imprisonment and how to perform it.

To perform a Flurry Rush, you need to press the dodge button, i.e., B, right before an enemy’s attack hits you. The timing for the Flurry Rush can be a bit tricky, as it varies depending on enemy type. However, you can easily master it after a bit of practice. Furthermore, Flurry Rush doesn’t stop at just the perfect dodge. It also lets you retaliate with a flurry of attacks.

After you perform a perfect dodge, immediately mash the attack button, i.e., Y, to counterattack. The whole Flurry Rush combo is B > Y. It should be noted that Flurry Rush can be initiated against all enemies and combos. However, timing will vary vastly for different attack types. Furthermore, you can also follow up Flurry Rush with other attacks.

That said, Flurry Rush also comes with its own risks. While the ability does let you deal a ton of damage to enemies in short bursts, timing the dodge is incredibly tricky. And if you fail to dodge at the right time, you will take damage from enemy attacks.

Flurry Rush is another combo that you have access to in Hyrule Warriors Age of Imprisonment. It’s essentially one of the basic combat skills that can be performed regardless of the weapon type or character. Once you initiate a Flurry Rush, it slows down time, giving you a brief window to dish out damage to enemies with a “flurry” of attacks.

The combo works basically the same as in modern The Legend of Zelda games. However, in Hyrule Warriors, the timing for Flurry Rush is a tad stricter. Furthermore, the damage you take upon failing a Flurry Rush is far more substantial compared to Breath of the Wild or Tears of the Kingdom.
