However, over the years, the series ended up becoming somewhat of a cult classic among fans. This is somewhat akin to games like Pokken Tournament. In fact, the Hyrule Warriors games have become an integral part of the overall The Legend of Zelda experience, complete with dedicated save data bonuses.
For those unaware, Hyrule Warriors games often offer save data bonuses on Nintendo consoles. This essentially allows players to claim an exclusive weapon or armor in Hyrule Warriors if they have another game in The Legend of Zelda series installed on their console. The same goes for Age of Imprisonment.

How To Obtain the Save Data Bonuses in Hyrule Warriors Age of Imprisonment?
Hyrule Warriors Age of Imprisonment comes with two exclusive weapons as save data bonuses. These weapons are – High Guard’s Sword and High Guard’s Claymore. Both of these weapons are tied to the most recent The Legend of Zelda and Hyrule Warriors games. Essentially, if you have Age of Calamity installed on your Switch 2, you will get access to the High Guard’s Claymore. Whereas, if you have Tears of the Kingdom installed, you will get access to the High Guard’s Claymore.
That being said, there’s a catch. You don’t necessarily need to have both those games installed on your console to get the bonuses. If you’re short of storage space you can get the bonus weapons simply via the game saves. Essentially, you just need to have the save files from Hyrule Warriors Age of Calamity and The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom to get the bonuses.
As such, you can just install the games on your console, create a new save, and delete them.
Does the Save Data Bonus Affect Gameplay in Hyrule Warriors Age of Imprisonment?
No, the weapons included as save data bonuses are essentially model swaps for the standard weapons you can obtain in the game. They don’t offer any special perks or gameplay-related benefits. Furthermore, once you progress through the game, you will find better weapons that easily outclass the save data bonuses. The weapons offer purely cosmetic bonuses, with ties to past The Legend of Zelda games.
