This Hyrule Warriors Age of Imprisonment walkthrough will take you through the Archfiend’s Return battle in the game.
Hyrule Warriors Age of Imprisonment’s The Archfiend’s Return battle throws you into one final encounter against Grimgera. After the party decides to go on the offensive and reclaim Hyrule Castle in Into the Fray, Grimgera crashes in to spoil the plans. The road to Hyrule Castle goes through Grimgera, and now there’s no choice but to end this once and for all.
The Archfiend’s Return battle is one of the most intense battles in Hyrule Warriors Age of Imprisonment. The battle can be a little tricky, but we’re here to walk you through it.

How To Complete The Archfiend’s Return in Hyrule Warriors Age of Imprisonment
As soon as the introductory cutscene ends, your fight with Grimgera begins. The characters you can use in this battle are Rauru, Raphica, Agraston, and Typhan. This is your third encounter with Grimgera, and you have to use all you’ve learnt in the past encounters to emerge victorious once again.
Grimgera mostly sticks to the air, but will lunge onto the ground to attack you. Right after the attack, there’s a 3-second or so window where he’ll just stay on the ground. This window is your opportunity to deal tons of damage. We recommend exploiting Grimgera’s weakness to fire to have the highest possible damage output.
Once the 3-second window closes, Grimgera will once again take to the air, putting you at a disadvantage. To counter this, we suggest using anti-air attacks to anchor Grimgera back to ground. Once he comes in closer, he’ll then be vulnerable to attacks from your party. Use this opportunity to use the shield breakers and target Grimgera’s weak spot.
Deal damage to Grimgera a bit, and he’ll go on the offensive. He’ll look up to the sky, and then summon ice crystals that crash onto the ground. Use Zelda’s Temporal Counter when you see him look up to reflect this attack.
Once you damage his weak point enough, the fight will move to the floor. Continue using the fire attacks to exploit Grimgera’s weakness and beat the boss. Beating the boss will then complete The Archfiend’s Return battle.
