In Hyrule Warriors Age of Imprisonment, you start your adventure with the first mission called To the Great Plateau. You play as Princess Zelda, who wakes up in ancient Hyrule after being pulled back in time. With King Rauru and Queen Sonia by her side, she begins to understand how to fight and survive in a world filled with enemies.

The Great Plateau is not just a training ground. It teaches you how to handle combat, time your attacks, and protect yourself. Every encounter adds something new to your skills. By the end of this mission, you will feel more comfortable controlling Zelda and managing different types of enemies.

How To Complete ‘To the Great Plateau’ Quest in Hyrule Warriors Age of Imprisonment

Your first goal is to learn the basic controls. You will face a few weak enemies who help you practice light and strong attacks. Use the Y button for quick hits and the X button for heavier strikes. Dodging at the right time lets you pull off a Flurry Rush, which deals extra damage. If things get rough, hold ZL to block until you find an opening.

Once you finish the tutorial, the first big enemy appears. His name is Typhon, and he uses charge attacks that are easy to predict. Watch for the red glow before he attacks, then counter with Piercing Light. That exposes his weak-point gauge. Keep hitting him until the gauge breaks, and then use a Weak-Point Smash to deal heavy damage.

Next, move on to the first outpost. Defeat enough small enemies to draw out a stronger foe. Beating this enemy lets you capture the outpost. After that, you face Quino, who uses jumping attacks instead of charges. To deal with him, use the Bow of Light skill to hit him midair. Once his weak-point gauge appears, go all in until he drops.

Your next opponent is King Rauru. This fight feels like a test of everything you’ve learned so far. He mixes both charge and jump attacks, so you will need to use the correct counter each time. When his health gets low, you unlock the chance to use a Sync Strike with Sonia. Follow the arrows on the ground, wait for the L button prompt, and trigger the move for a strong combo finish.

In the final phase, you fight alongside Rauru instead of against him. Now you can switch between him and Zelda using the D-pad. Use this to your advantage during the group battle against Pastos, Braton, and Agraston. Switching characters helps manage cooldowns and keeps your Sync Gauge filling faster. Finish off Agraston to complete the mission.

Tips and Tricks To Finish the Quest

  • Keep an eye on red-glowing attacks. They signal when an enemy is about to use a strong move. Countering at the right moment stuns them and opens their weak-point gauge.
  • Always use Special Rations when your health drops too low. You can set them to auto-use so you do not have to worry about healing during fights.
  • Try combining elements like wind, ice, or fire. When used together, they create tornado effects that interrupt enemy attacks and give you breathing space.
  • If you want to improve your combat rhythm, practice dash canceling. After each combo, dash to reset your attack animation. It lets you stay aggressive without leaving yourself open.
  • Switch between Zelda and Rauru during tougher fights. Keeping both active helps manage cooldowns and keeps Sync Strikes ready faster. These attacks are great for taking down bosses or big groups of enemies.
