Cody Conrad, popularly known as Clix, is known for gaining immense popularity after he qualified for the Fortnite World Cup. The American streamer is known for making controversial statements and has been in the news for the past few months. Recently, a clip of him went viral where he claimed that he “brought the scene back,” saying that he popularized Fortnite.

“I’m trying bro, I really am trying. Like bro, I brought the scene back. I brought the Fortnite f**king game back when that shit was dead as f*ck. I was having 5000 viewers. Winning a finals to bringing it back, having over 100,000 viewers, 180,000 viewers on grand finals. The best player of that season like. Bro, my brothers came back to where it was.”

He also claimed to be the best player back then and said that he received zero respect for it. He said that the disrespect and egos make him really mad.

“But the amount of approach showing me zero respect that I have seen, it is so f**ked up, is so f**ked up. Because half those motherf**kers wouldn’t even be here without me. And I say that and I mean that shit too. There is like just so much disrespect going on. It’s so f**ked up with so many egos bro. So many f**king egos that make me mad dude.”

This clip started a number of discussions on social media platforms. While some of the users said that what he is saying is not true, some said that he was the only one who was loyal to Fortnite when other gaming streamers were not.

Clix’s Controversial Statement About NBA Players

Clix is the co-owner of XSET and is known for making the most controversial statements. Moreover, he has compared Fortnite players and basketball players in the past. He stated that NBA players are not as professional as Fortnite players. He said:

“Becoming a pro in Fortnite is so much harder than becoming an NBA player. Now let me speak. You can become born and instantly be seven foot. You put in same amount of work, you’re in the NBA just like that because you have height advantage, you get what I’m saying? Now, let me tell you about Fortnite. No, no, let me tell you guys about Fortnite. Do you know how hard it is to have the reaction time? To have all the fingers to be spamming the perfect buttons at the perfect time, at the perfect second. To rotate a dead side zone while zoned. By the way, while you need 90 surge, you’re 90 below on surge, while rotating. Fully moving zone man, no fu**ing maths in it. Coming out as an outcome of winning the game. Who could do that? Who could do that? All I need to do in the NBA is hit a fu**ing 3. You get what I’m saying here?”

In addition to this, he was previously embroiled in a controversy, back in March 2024, for comparing streaming to labour-intesive industries like construction. He claimed that no matter the industry, “hard work is hard work.” He said:

“Hard work is hard work at the end of the day. Like, construction is f**king hard f**king work if you are working your a** off. Streaming is hard work if you are actually working hard, you know what I am saying?
