Family alleges their pre-teen girl was groomed and assaulted through Roblox. Accuses the gaming platform of not protecting minors.
A family from Indiana has filed a lawsuit against Roblox, accusing the gaming company of negligence and endangering child safety. The family from Wabash County states their pre-teen daughter was groomed and later assaulted by an adult through the application. The law firm Anapol Weiss is representing the family in the lawsuit reportedly filed on May 19, 2025, at the Superior Court of California, County of San Mateo.

What Are the Allegations Against Roblox?
According to Fox’s WFFT-TV, Roblox is being accused of knowing about the dangers minors face on the platform and not doing anything to protect children from sexual predation. As per the lawsuit, the complaint alleges that a girl from Indiana joined the gaming platform when she was nine years old.
An adult posing as a teenager reportedly groomed her through the application and then moved their interaction off the platform. He then arranged to meet the child in Indiana and, according to the attorneys, recorded the assault. The man also took her to Georgia and assaulted her multiple times.
The crux of the lawsuit against Roblox hinges on the plaintiffs’ accusing the gaming platform of not adequately safeguarding minors from predation. This is a heading from the Table of Contents in the lawsuit:
“Roblox Knowingly Causes and Facilitates the Sexual Exploitation of Children”
The lawsuit directly accuses Roblox of facilitating the abuse and assault perpetrated against the minor from Wabash, Indiana. A relevant part from the ‘Introduction’ section of the legal document states:
“The heinous acts against Plaintiff were committed by a dangerous child predator whose actions were possible only because of the egregiously tortious conduct of Roblox.”
“Through its pervasive pattern of misrepresentations about safety, Roblox portrays its app as a safe and appropriate place for children to play. In reality, and as Roblox well knows, the design of its app makes children easy prey for pedophiles, and Roblox had no appropriate safeguards to ensure that children were in fact safe or that predators were screened.”
The lawsuit also alleges that the gaming platform prioritizes user growth over user safety.
“The reason for Roblox’s unlawful conduct is simple: Roblox prioritizes user growth over child safety.”

- Texas Girl: The family filed a lawsuit in April 2025 and it follows a similar pattern. Predators reportedly contacted the minor through the game and later assaulted her.
- New Jersey Boy: Legal case from February 2025. Involves a serial predator who duped a 13-year-old boy into sharing explicit material. The teen also told the predator his address, but thankfully, no physical abuse took place.
