The new iPhone 16e comes with a 6.1-inch Super Retina XDR OLED with around 800 nits of typical brightness and up to 1,200 nits of peak brightness. It has a newer Ceramic Shield, which protects the screen from falls and scratches. However, it sports the last-gen notch display rather than the Dynamic Island.

The iPhone 16 Plus has a much larger 6.7-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display with a higher 1,000 nits typical brightness and 2,000 nits of peak brightness, which helps provide a much better outdoor viewing experience and HDR performance. It also comes with the latest-gen Ceramic Shield, which is better at protecting the display from drops and scratches. The iPhone 16 Plus is equipped with the all-new Dynamic Island, which provides a much better viewing experience.
Performance & Battery Life
The iPhone 16e comes with the A18 chip with a 4-core GPU, which helps keep the cost down. Furthermore, it also has the all-new C1 modem, which is Apple’s new in-house 5G modem. Meanwhile, the iPhone 16 Plus comes with the same A18 chip but with a 5-core GPU, which helps in better gaming performance.
The iPhone 16 Plus offers a much longer battery life with 27 hours of video playback, a bigger display, and slightly better internals. It also has support for MagSafe wireless charging, which can support up to 25W wireless power delivery.
The iPhone 16e, with its smaller display and slightly slower internals, can offer up to 26 hours of video playback. Although it does not support MagSafe, it can be charged through 7.5W wireless charging, which is less convenient compared to the 25W MagSafe charging.
Camera

The iPhone 16 Plus comes with a dual-camera setup with a 48MP main camera with a Fusion sensor and a 12MP ultra-wide sensor. This setup gives options like macro mode and telescopic mode to users for more versatile photography. It also supports more shooting modes like cinematic mode, action mode, and advanced portrait/depth control. Furthermore, it has a dedicated haptic feedback touch button for more precise camera control.

The iPhone 16e comes with a single 48MP Fusion camera sensor, which can be used to shoot photos and videos at 2x zoom. It does this by cropping the sensor output. However, it does not have the ultra-wide camera like the other iPhone 16 models, which gives it fewer shooting modes than the 16 Plus.
