Abyssus is a new co-op roguelite that calls itself “Brinepunk,” a mix of cyberpunk but underwater. Playing the game reminds you of Doom with a mix of Bioshock aesthetics. It’s a nice concept, coupled with roguelite mechanics. It’s not very punishing, but it keeps things challenging. You can even play with your friends through the co-op feature.
With that said, you might be wondering if you can play the game on Xbox Game Pass. Unfortunately, Abyssus is not available on Xbox Game Pass for now. Let’s take a look at the possibility of this game arriving in the subscription service’s roster anytime soon.
Will Abyssus Be Available on Xbox Game Pass?
For now, there is no information on whether Abyssus will be added to the Xbox Game Pass roster. The Arcade Crew, the publisher behind the game, has yet to confirm the possibility of this title arriving on Microsoft’s subscription service. This means purchasing the game at full price is the only way to play it right now.
However, you don’t have to worry about paying too much just to play the game. Abyssus is currently available on Steam for $25. A special offer is ongoing, lowering the price of the game by 15%, making it just $21.24 until August 19, 2025. This is a good chance to buy the game a bit cheaper if you plan to try it out.
With that said, Abyssus could arrive on Xbox Game Pass at a later date. Some modern games eventually make their way to various subscription services, often to reach a wider audience. We’ll just have to keep our eyes peeled for more updates in the future.
Supported Platforms for Abyssus
For now, Abyssus is only available on PC via Steam. There is no news about the game arriving on multiple platforms in the future. This means you can only access the game on one platform, unless you take the Steam Deck into consideration.
Abyssus runs great on the Steam Deck. If you have the handheld console, you can play the game with a smooth 60 FPS framerate. However, it is not advisable to go beyond this as it may cause performance issues. That said, 60 FPS should be enough to get the best gameplay experience.
