Let’s discuss whether the Keen Games’ survival co-op open-world RPG Enshrouded supports cross-platform (cross-play) or not.
Currently, Enshrouded is available only on PC, so it does not support cross-platform play. The open-world survival base-building game from Keen Games launched in early access in 2024, exclusive for PC. At the time of writing, players can only access the game via Steam and GeForce Now.
Since Enshrouded’s early access is limited to PC and not available on consoles, cross-play is not currently available. However, a console release is planned for the future, though cross-platform functionality has not yet been confirmed. For now, PC players can only team up with others on the same platform, supporting co-op play for up to 16 players. In Enshrouded, you can explore the world of Embervale, battle enemies and bosses, and build powerful bases, all while surviving the Shroud.

Will Enshrouded Release on PlayStation and Xbox?
While Enshrouded is currently available on PC, that doesn’t mean the game will remain that way. It is officially confirmed that Enshrouded will launch for PlayStation and Xbox in Spring 2026 with its full launch (Version 1.0). The developers shared this information during their 2025 roadmap on Steam and in the official press kit page. In addition to the console release, the full launch will also introduce creative mode and more user-generated content features. Once the game arrives on consoles, PlayStation and Xbox players can indulge in the adventures in Embervale. Although the console launch is confirmed for 2026, the developers have not confirmed whether cross-platform and cross-progression will be available.
Modern multiplayer games often deploy cross-platform and cross-progression. Availability across different platforms has become a requirement for players. It directly affects the popularity and longevity of a game. Cross-platform features allow players across different platforms, like PC, Xbox, and PlayStation, to play together. On the other hand, cross-progression lets players carry over their progression from one platform to another by syncing their save data.
