Ghost of Yotei is the next chapter in Sucker Punch Productions’ Ghost series, and it is not coming to PC right away. PlayStation 5 owners can dive into Atsu’s story on October 2, 2025, but PC users might have to wait a while for an official port. The first game was released half a decade ago, and it was a fitting title to end the previous console generation. However, this didn’t stop the developers from re-releasing the game and porting it to PC.

If Sony’s previous moves regarding porting first-party titles to PC are any indication, fans shouldn’t be surprised if this sequel eventually leaves the PlayStation platform. Porting games is a modern tactic by publishers to get the word out and attract new players.

The gaming community is familiar with how Sony treats its first-party titles. The PlayStation 4 era thrived because of them, especially with a strong selection of games across diverse genres. It didn’t take long for the publisher to start thinking beyond its platform and share some of its strongest games on PC.

PlayStation 5 users are first in line to experience Ghost of Yotei on October 2, 2025, and it makes sense for Sony Interactive Entertainment to keep it that way. This is a high-profile game that will convince more players to invest in the console to experience it first. The hype surrounding the game is also the result of porting Ghost of Tsushima to PC last year, which brought the franchise to the attention of most PC gamers.

Sony is well aware of the PC community, especially its numbers. As a company, its goal is to find more ways to increase revenue. PlayStation consoles sell well, but there was an opportunity to expand further by porting games.

Ghost of Tsushima was playable on PlayStation 4 at launch and received a Director’s Cut months later, which eventually became available on PC years down the line. Perhaps there is a good chance Ghost of Yotei will receive the same treatment. This is more a question of when it will happen rather than if, although one thing is for sure: this game will skip the PlayStation 4.
