Harry Potter Quidditch Champions does not belong in the Hogwarts Legacy timeline but lets players experience the fast-paced flying broom sport set in J.K. Rowling’s universe.
Hogwarts Legacy, released in 2023, fulfilled the childhood dream of living out a life at Hogwarts for many. Gamers spent hours exploring the halls of the magical school and its many hidden dungeons. However, one omission that stood out like a sore thumb was that of the fast-paced chaotic game of Quidditch. A year later, Harry Potter Quidditch Champions is here and aims to fill that void.
Released on September 3, 2024, Harry Potter: Quidditch Champions allows players to experience this fantastical sport in different arenas. Players can create their own character or pick from a wide array of iconic characters, some of whom also feature in the Hogwarts Legacy game. This has left some fans wondering where the game lies in the Hogwarts Legacy timeline, if at all.
Harry Potter Quidditch Champions is a Standalone Title
Quidditch Champions does not fit into the Hogwarts Legacy timeline neatly. In the original series, Harry Potter begins his magical journey and enrolls in Hogwarts in September of 1991. The events of Fantastic Beasts, on the other hand, are set in the 1920s. The events of Hogwarts Legacy take place in the year 1890, almost a century before Harry steps into the famed wizardry school.
Harry Potter Quidditch Champions features characters from different timelines in the franchise. The presence of the Weasleys, Harry, and Draco indicates that the game is standalone in nature, since these characters did not exist during the events of Hogwarts Legacy.
