Lost Soul Aside Doesn’t Feature an Open World
The developers dispelled any rumors about the game being open world long before its release. Instead, you follow a tight-knit narrative that does take you through some expansive areas. These open-ended maps allow you the freedom to go off the beaten track and explore a bit, but you can’t go off exploring a huge map with lots of points of interest, like in an open world game.
However, there are plenty of platforming opportunities in the game. Arena, your dragon companion, will lend you their traversal abilities. These will enable you to glide, jump, fly, and even use a crystal hoverboard to travel across different areas. You might compare the scope of the maps to those of the recent God of War games, where you had plenty of opportunity to explore without it ever taking the form of an open world title.

Lost Soul Aside: What’s the Story About?
You play as Kaser, a soldier who is caught in between a huge political war brewing between the Empire loyalists and the Revolutionaries. And, to top it all, Kaser has to look for his sister Louisa, who has mysteriously disappeared. To make matters worse, a group of interdimensional invaders, dubbed Voidrax, have arrived on the planet to take over. Kaser must use his newfound abilities and skills to save his sister from imminent danger while also protecting all of humanity from the approaching doom.
