Monster Hunter Stories, much like the mainline Monster Hunter games, started as a niche turn-based RPG. However, over the years and with the growing popularity of the Monster Hunter IP, the Stories titles ended up amassing a large cult following. As such, it’s no surprise that there’s a lot of enthusiasm and excitement surrounding the next mainline Stories game, Monster Hunter Stories 3.

Recently, Capcom not only revealed the game’s release date but also pre-order details, alongside a brand-new gameplay trailer. Surprisingly enough, Monster Hunter Stories 3 is the first title in the series that’s priced similarly to the mainline titles. And that’s not all, the game even ships with three different editions – Standard, Deluxe, and Premium Deluxe.

Among these three, the Deluxe Edition is a really odd one. It’s not as expensive as the Premium bundle. However, at the same time, it’s not as accessible (in terms of pricing) as the Standard Edition. Here’s everything you need to know about Monster Hunter Stories 3 Deluxe Edition, and whether it’s worth buying or not.

Should You Get Monster Hunter Stories 3 Deluxe Edition?

The simple answer is, well, no. While the Deluxe Edition does offer some really cool in-game bonuses, its pricing doesn’t really justify its offerings. If you’re already going to pay up to $80 (without tax) for the game, you’re better off just getting the Premium Deluxe Edition. Also, all the DLCs included in the Deluxe Edition can be bought separately, albeit post-launch.

Had the Deluxe Edition been priced at $80, it would’ve made for a more compelling option over the Premium Deluxe Edition. However, as it stands, the Deluxe Edition isn’t really worth $90. Instead, it’s just best to get the Standard Edition and buy the DLCs you like, separately. Otherwise, if you want access to all the DLCs, you can just get the Premium Deluxe Edition.
