Monster Hunter Wilds is just a few weeks away from its release, with the game scheduled to come out on February 28, 2025. The game was initially announced during The Game Awards 2023, with a brief gameplay trailer. However, it is in the last few months that Capcom finally gave players a good look at the game.

Furthermore, the studio even released a playable open beta of Monster Hunter Wilds for players to try out. Unsurprisingly, there’s a ton of hype and anticipation surrounding Monster Hunter Wilds. The excitement surrounding the game is understandable considering Monster Hunter Wilds is the first current-gen title in the series and also a spiritual successor to Monster Hunter World.

The game is currently available for pre-order on all platforms, alongside exclusive pre-order bonuses. Much like the previous Monster Hunter game, Capcom’s upcoming title is offered in multiple editions. Here’s everything you need to know about Monster Hunter Wilds’ editions and whether it’s worth spending extra on the Deluxe Edition, or not.

What Is Included in Monster Hunter Wilds Deluxe Edition?

Monster Hunter Wilds is offered in three different editions: Standard, Deluxe, and Premium Deluxe. While the Standard and Premium Deluxe Editions do offer perks that might make you gravitate towards either, the Deluxe Edition is an outlier. While it does cost more than the Standard Edition, it doesn’t offer enough content to justify its $20 price increase.

The Deluxe Edition essentially comes with the Deluxe Pack, on top of the Standard Edition content. The Deluxe Pack includes a Layered Armor for the hunter, another one for the Palico, and other similar cosmetics. However, it doesn’t come with the DLC Packs that are included in the Premium Deluxe Edition.

The Deluxe Edition also does not feature any form of early access to cosmetic DLCs. Here’s a rundown of the different editions of Monster Hunter Wilds and the bonuses they have to offer:

Standard Edition ($69.99)

  • Base game
  • Pre-order bonus

Is Monster Hunter Wilds Deluxe Edition Worth It?

Monster Hunter Wilds’ Deluxe Edition does feature some really cool cosmetics, which some players might not want to miss out on. However, for the price of $90, it’s not really worth buying over the Standard or the Premium Deluxe Editions. Furthermore, if you want to grab the Deluxe Edition cosmetics, you can buy the Premium Deluxe Edition, which also guarantees the post-launch DLC cosmetics.

While the Deluxe Pack does offer some really cool Layered Armor sets, it’s not worth the extra $20 over the base game. Lastly, Capcom always makes the DLC cosmetics purchasable separately, post-release. As such, if you do want to get the Deluxe Pack, you can do so at a later date.

For pre-orders, we highly recommend sticking with the $70 Standard Edition, or the $110 Premium Deluxe Edition.
