Everything you need to know about the upcoming game from Team Ninja, Ninja Gaiden 4, and whether it’s coming to Nintendo Switch 2 or not.
The iconic character action franchise, Ninja Gaiden, has been on hiatus for a rather lengthy period of time. However, 2025 seems to be the year for the resurgence of the series, with Ninja Gaiden 2 Black and now, the upcoming Ninja Gaiden 4. Surprisingly enough, the next mainline title isn’t developed by Team Ninja alone. Ninja Gaiden 4 is co-developed by PlatinumGames, of Bayonetta and Nier:Automata fame.
PlatinumGames titles usually get a Nintendo Switch release, either simultaneously with other platforms or a few years down the road. However, as of the writing of this article, publisher Xbox Game Studios and PlatinumGames have not revealed any details regarding a potential Nintendo Switch 2 port for Ninja Gaiden 4.

Will Ninja Gaiden 4 Get A Nintendo Switch 2 Version?
Ninja Gaiden 4 is currently only coming to PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. That said, the series isn’t a stranger to Nintendo Switch. The Ninja Gaiden (Sigma) Master Collection, as well as the recently released and critically acclaimed Ninja Gaiden Ragebound, both got a dedicated Nintendo Switch port. As such, it’s not a far-fetched idea that Ninja Gaiden 4 might also arrive on the Switch, albeit at a later date.
That said, currently, Xbox Game Studios as well as Koei Tecmo Games don’t seem to have any plans for releasing the mainline title to Nintendo’s home console.
Ninja Gaiden 4 Release Date
Ninja Gaiden 4 is scheduled to be released on October 21, 2025. The game is coming to all current-gen systems and is currently available for pre-order on all platforms. Furthermore, since it’s published by Xbox Game Studios, Ninja Gaiden 4 is also coming to Xbox Game Pass.
However, it should be noted that, following the recent price changes to Game Pass, day one releases are only available on the Ultimate tier subscription. You won’t get access to Ninja Gaiden 4 on release, on Game Pass Essentials and Premium.

Ninja Gaiden 4 Pre-Load Details
Ninja Gaiden 4 is currently available for pre-load on Xbox. For PS5, the pre-load is scheduled to go live on October 19, 2025. As for PC, Xbox Game Studios, and Koei Tecmo Games have not announced any specific timings for pre-downloads.
