In this article, learn if the protagonist from Pokemon Legends Arceus, Akari/Rei, makes an appearance in its sequel Pokemon Legends Z-A.

The protagonists of Pokemon Legends Arceus do not appear in person in the sequel, Pokemon Legends Z-A. However, both the male and female protagonists’ uniforms, i.e., Rei and Akari’s Survey Corps Uniform, can be seen when the player visits the Hisui Exhibition in the Lumiose Museum. So let’s see how Pokemon Legends Z-A gave a shout-out to its predecessor by spotlighting the deeds of its previous player character.
Pokemon Legends Z-A Honors the Deeds of the Protagonist of Arceus

The player visits the Lumiose Museum for the first time as part of the side mission “Spewpa in the Museum.” While hunting for the twelve Spewpa that wandered into the Museum, you will come across a special exhibit on the second floor. This is the “Hisui: The Grand Exhibition” which shows off items and events, from Pokemon Legends Arceus, including Rei and Akari’s deeds.
We see both protagonists’ Survey Corps Uniforms, with the display text even noting that the clothes did not take any damage even when rolling through rough terrain. This, of course, refers to the dodge roll mechanics of Legends Arceus, which have also been used as a basis for Legends Z-A.
Additionally, we see Professor Laventon’s sketches, which were part of the original Hisuian Pokedex. The display text notes that a 15-year-old was the one who helped Laventon collect the data on different Pokemon for his Pokedex.
Did the Protagonist of Legends Arceus Ever Leave Hisui?
We do not get a clear answer to whether or not Rei or Akari ever returned to their original timeline. This stands out, as the other time-displaced character in Legends Arceus, the Subway Boss from Unova’s Battle Subway Ingo, has an exhibit which notes that he returned to his own time. And to make it further clear that he did in return, the exhibit has a quote from him, which goes, “It’s time for me to return.”
Also, there’s a display with Volo’s outfit, which was said to have been donated by its original owner, indicating that the secret villain of Legends Arceus has survived to the present day and may be plotting something in the future. The fact that Rei or Akari do not share a fate similar to Ingo or Volo means that their future remains vague for now.
