The Nvidia RTX 5070 Ti was released in February 2025 and it’s almost the end of 2025. Is this GPU still worth buying at a $750 price tag?

The Nvidia RTX 5070 Ti was launched in February 2025 as a premium GPU designed for 1440p high refresh rate gaming or budget 4K gaming. Even though this graphics card was launched at an MDRP of $749, it was actually sold for $1,000 or higher. Only in the last two months has it finally come down to its original launch price of $749.
Traditionally, GPUs come down from their MSRP after around a year, but the RTX 5070 Ti is still at that price. This begs the question: Is this GPU worth buying in 2025? Or, should you buy some other GPU? These are the questions we plan to answer today, with a detailed assessment and performance benchmarks of the RTX 5070 Ti.

Nvidia RTX 5070 Ti: A Detailed Performance Assessment
The RTX 5070 Ti is based on Nvidia’s latest Blackwell architecture and comes with even more AI-based technologies to deliver much higher performance in supported titles. Before we begin with benchmarks, let’s check out the full specs of this GPU to get a general idea of what it is capable of.
Specifications

Here are the specs of the Nvidia RTX 5070 Ti:
| Specifications | Values |
|---|---|
| Architecture | Blackwell |
| Shader cores | 8960 |
| RT cores | 70 |
| TMUs | 280 |
| ROPs | 96 |
| Base core clock speeds | 2295 MHz |
| Boost core clock speeds | 2452 MHz |
| Memory capacity | 16GB GDDR7 |
| Memory bus width | 256-bit |
| Memory bandwidth | 896.0 GB/s |
| Manufacturing node | 5nm |
| Thermal design power (TDPs) | 300W |
As per the specs table, the Nvidia RTX 5070 Ti is equipped with more than enough shader cores, RT cores, TMUs, ROPs, and more. Even the memory bandwidth tops out at 896.0 GB/s, which is good enough for 4K gaming. However, specs don’t always translate to real-world performance in a 1:1 ratio, which is why we should look at some actual gaming performance.
Performance Benchmarks
Here’s how the Nvidia RTX 5070 Ti performs in some popular games:
| Games | 1440p | 4K |
|---|---|---|
| Ghost of Tsushima | 96 FPS | 56 FPS |
| S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 | 74 FPS | 45 FPS |
| Forza Horizon 5 | 174 FPS | 115 FPS |
| Cyberpunk 2077 (RT) | 93 FPS | 52 FPS |
| Doom: The Dark Ages | 84 FPS | 48 FPS |
| Horizon Forbidden West | 114 FPS | 71 FPS |
| Red Dead Redemption 2 | 135 FPS | 94 FPS |
| Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 | 60 FPS | 48 FPS |
| God of War: Ragnarok | 157 FPS | 93 FPS |
| The Last of Us Part II | 106 FPS | 68 FPS |
Note: The two GPUs tested here were evaluated at a 1440p and 4K resolution with High/Ultra Settings, unless otherwise specified. All the FPS numbers were sourced from the Testing Games channel on YouTube. For the tests, the two graphics cards were paired with a Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU.
On average, the Nvidia RTX 5070 Ti delivers 60+ FPS at 1440p in every tested game, with many titles running at 80 – 100FPS easily. Even in 4K, this GPU delivers 60+ FPS in 6 out of 10 games. The four games where the RTX 5070 Ti delivered below 60FPS at 4K are a bit too demanding. However, even these games can deliver 60+ FPS if you enable DLSS technology. Also, all benchmarks were performed on the newer Nvidia 581.08 driver. Therefore, what you see here will be extremely close to what you get if you buy this GPU.
You can even use DLSS MFG technology to quadruple your frame rates in supported titles. This feature is for users who have monitors with 180Hz, 240Hz, or higher refresh rates.
Pricing

The Nvidia RTX 5070 Ti has an MSRP of $749, but it was hardly sold at that price. The street prices of this GPU were around $1,000 to $1,100. However, over the last few months, the price has come back to its original $749 on Amazon. Historically, prices decrease from their MSRP after 6 months or so, but it hasn’t been the case for the last two graphics card generations due to higher AI demand and economic inflation.
Should You Buy the Nvidia RTX 5070 Ti in Late 2025?
Even in late 2025, the Nvidia RTX 5070 Ti is still a capable GPU. It can deliver high frame rates at 1440p and around 60 at 4K. However, some games will require DLSS to reach 60 FPS at 4K resolution. Therefore, it is still worth buying for gaming at both 1440p and 4K, even in late 2025. The $749 price point is quite decent and worth paying for this kind of performance.
Is $749 a really good price for RTX 5070 Ti? No, but the price is good enough considering economic inflation and higher AI GPU demand. However, the Radeon RX 9070 XT is also a great alternative. It is only around 5 – 8% slower in rasterization, but it is available for $80 less, as of this writing.
