xQc or Felix Lengyel is a French-Canadian Twitch streamer of Hungarian descent, known for his humor and reaction videos.
Felix Lengyel, better known by his online alias xQc, was born on November 12, 1995. He regularly livestreams on Twitch and has over 12 million followers on the platform. He was born in Quebec, Canada, and is of Hungarian descent.
xQc’s streaming career started off when he began uploading League of Legends videos on his YouTube channel. Later, he switched to Overwatch and, in time, became a professional Overwatch player. He represented Team Canada in the Overwatch World Cup and is also known for playing Starcraft.
xQc’s username has always been a topic of discussion for his fans. He started off as xQcLoL, where ‘LoL’ referred to League of Legends. Later, when he switched to Overwatch, he changed his name to xQcOW. In May 2022, he announced during a livestream that his username would be changed yet again, but this time it was just “xQc.”
xQc is also sponsored by GFuel and even has his own flavor. GFuel is a caffeinated drink mix that was formulated to act as a supplement to help improve focus and reaction time for gamers. The flavor is named “The Juice” and consists of fruit punch, orange, pineapple, and watermelon flavors.
How Did xQc Become So Famous?
In 2016, Felix joined an e-sports team as an Overwatch player. Later in 2017, Dallas Fuel announced that xQc would be joining their team. He was soon released from the team as there were multiple controversies surrounding Felix. One of which included him making racist comments against other players.
xQc later joined Sentinal but later requested a release. In October 2020, he joined Luminosity Gaming, and his time with the organization came to an end in 2023. Other than Overwatch, Felix also plays and streams Fortnite. He was the most watched streamer in the year 2022, with 221.43 million hours watched on his Twitch channel. He is known for his occasional outbursts while playing games, but that does not stop his audience from admiring him.
In 2023, xQc signed a huge contract with the online streaming platform Kick. He signed a non-exclusive contract for $100 million, which was a major milestone in his streaming career. Kick’s aim was to bring the top Twitch streamer to their platform so that his audience would switch to Kick and bring in engagement on the streaming platform. As it is a non-exclusive deal, he can continue streaming on the platform Twitch.
“Kick is allowing me to try and do things I haven’t been able to before,” xQc said. “I’m extremely excited to take this opportunity and maximize it into new creative and fresh ideas over coming years.”
In 2020, a lot of Felix’s videos and clips went viral, and this boosted his popularity. xQc has won a number of awards in the past few years. In 2022, he won the 12th Streamy Award under the category “Just Chatting.” After that, he won “Best Variety Streamer” at The Streamers Award in 2023.
