YouTuber Darren “IShowSpeed” Watkins Jr. will compete in the annual Match4Hope charity on February 14, 2025. During a press conference leading up to the event, Speed said he would retire from football (soccer) if he didn’t score a goal. The upcoming event will feature two teams of content creators and football players.

This year’s Match4Hope event includes footballers like Alessandro Del Piero, Andrea Pirlo, Thierry Henry, David Silva, and Andres Iniesta. Some of the biggest content creators on YouTube are also participating in the match, including Hassan “AboFlah” Suleyman, IShowSpeed, and Olajide “KSI” Olayinka Williams Olatunji.

Speed’s comments about retiring went viral on social media, and fans are waiting to see if he scores a goal. The previous Match4Hope event raised $8.8 million and had over 22.5 million viewers. This year, the event is hosting an entire week of activities and matches in hopes of raising more money for charity.

IShowSpeed Jokes About Retirement if He Doesn’t Score a Goal at Match4Hope

YouTuber Ahmed “Darkest Man” Ismail Samara interviewed IShowSpeed and asked what Speed would do if he didn’t score this year. Speed responded:

“If I don’t score this time, Imma have to take my…you know, retirement.”

KSI, who was also in the panel, laughed at Speed and said:

“Retirement? Retirement is crazy!”

Speed and KSI will be on opposing teams for the charity match. Former Australian football player Tim Cahill will help Speed form tactics against KSI. Manager and former Argentine footballer Mauricio Pochettino will manage the team during the charity match.

Former Arsenal Football Club manager Arsene Wenger will manage KSI’s team. French actor Omar Sy will assist Wenger during the event. The two content creators’ teams will have a mix of content creators and footballers.
