Controversial live streamer Khalid Ramsey Ismail, popularly known online as Johnny Somali, has pleaded guilty to three charges during his trial in South Korea. The streamer admitted to obstruction of business charges, making him a convicted criminal in the country. However, an additional charge was presented in court, of which Johnny was reportedly unaware.

As a result, the court has scheduled a new trial date for April 9, 2025, to address the remaining charges. Popular law YouTuber Legal Mindset commented on Somali’s charges, stating:

“Reminder Ramsey faces a total of 4 charges, 2 counts of obstruction of business and 2 violations of the minor crimes act. Today, he pled GUILTY to 1 count of obstruction (convenience store) and 2 counts of the minor crimes act (dead fish harassment & disrupting subway / bus)”

Reportedly, the streamer was an hour late to his trial and arrived donning a “MAGA” (Make America Great Again) hat. Somali was asked to remove the hat by the South Korean authorities. On March 5, 2025, the streamer went live on Parti and stated that he would be making a false plea. He stated that he would plead mental insanity and that the authorities would let him go with a $500 fine. Despite his previous statements, the controversial streamer has pleaded guilty.

” ‘I don’t know what’s happening. Your honor, please, please help me! I am a psychopath! I plead mentally insane.’ And they say, ‘Okay! Go home with a fine of $500.’ What is this n***a going to say?!”

Reportedly, Ramsey could face upwards of 10 years in a South Korean prison.

What Charges Could Johnny Somali Possibly Face?

While the streamer has already pleaded guilty to three charges in the South Korean court, he could possibly face more charges in the upcoming hearing. Before his last trial, Johnny Somali faced one count of obstruction and two counts of violations of the minor crimes act. The judge announced a new charge in court during his trial, which both he and his lawyer were unaware of.

During a stream with popular YouTuber Atozy, Dr. Alaric Naudé stated that Somali could face more charges in other district courts in South Korea. Meanwhile, an X user who is following the trial closely claimed that Somali could face additional charges.

“Good news! During #johnnysomali’s trial charges can STILL be added to his case. BTW Johnny’s trial can last for a few months. These are more crimes committed by Johnny Somali”
