Twitch streamer Kai Cenat lit a firework in his streaming room and almost set his living room on fire in a recent livestream.
Popular Twitch streamer Kai Cenat lit a firework inside his streaming room on January 24, 2025. He apologized immediately after the incident and said that he “crashed out” and blamed himself.
Clips featuring the incident went viral, and it led to divisive opinions online. Many felt that the incident was staged for views, similar to a stunt Kai and James “MrBeast” Donaldson pulled in 2024. Others felt that it was a safety hazard and wanted the streamer to be punished.
After the incident, Kai’s room was full of smoke, and his chat pointed out that something was on fire behind him. The streamer noticed the fire late and immediately rushed to get help to stop it from spreading.
What Happened During Kai Cenat’s Recent Livestream?
During Kai Cenat’s recent livestream, he picked up a firework and lit it inside his room. He immediately tossed it behind him and said:
“Oh my god. Did I actually do that? F*ck! I might have crashed out and I am sorry.”
He turned around to assess the situation and told his stream:
“Why did I do that…why the f*ck would I do that? Why would I do that shit? That was CGI (computer-generated imagery). I don’t know.”

His room started filling up with smoke, which prompted him to check his surroundings. He didn’t notice that something was burning behind him, so he walked back to his chair and continued:
“I’m putting my thoughts, bro. Ayy, one thing about this carpet though. It stinked, it looked dirty and, it looked sh*tty. But it is indestructible b*tch. I don’t know where i found this sh*t, but this sh*t is truly indestructible. And…I like it. It’s giving what it’s supposed to give n*gga!”
He walked away to assess the situation again and kicked away the burnt firecracker. His chat spotted something burning in the background and told him about it. Kai didn’t notice it at first, but he immediately rushed to get help.
Kai Pulled a Similar Stunt in 2024 With MrBeast
MrBeast teamed up with Kai Cenat on July 4, 2024, to have a fireworks show. The YouTuber appeared on his stream and said:
“Kai, in exactly twenty minutes, we’re going live on your channel, but we’re in the middle of a field.”
A viral clip showing fireworks burning down Kai Cenat’s room went viral from the stream. However, it was not Kai Cenat’s real room. MrBeast and Kai later revealed that they made a replica room for the stunt.
Many viewers didn’t believe them at first. After reading through some chat messages, MrBeast told Kai’s audience:
“If you don’t believe us, come over here. So, this little tunnel over here leads into a scale replica of Kai’s room. That’s his streaming setup over there. No joke. We recreated his room in a field so he can have a fireworks war.”
Unlike the Fourth of July celebration stream from last year, Kai Cenat’s January 24, 2025, incident was at his real house. Many of his viewers and internet users criticized him for risking a potential fire hazard.
