As Larian promised, they continue to improve Baldur’s Gate 3, and we get a glimpse at the new epic endings, patch 7, and more in the future!
In a recent community update, Larian Studios shared some exciting news about Baldur’s Gate 3’s future and what players can expect from the upcoming Patch 7 and even patch 8. Let’s take a look at what we can expect.
Larian Promises New Evil and Epic Endings
Patch 7 will focus on evil endings and their combinations. Larian promised “even darker conclusions to your most sinister playthroughs.” It is important to note that the new evil epic Baldur’s Gate 3 Endings will also be available for all backgrounds, meaning not only Dark Urge. Dark Urge is known for its cruelty, and every BG3 fan should try this unique origin that adds an interesting background story you must discover for your character.
Those epic endings include new cutscenes, new fully voiced dialogues, and even darker soundtracks from award-winning composer Borislav Slavov. You can listen to a musical teaser below.

What We Can Expect in Patch 7 for Baldur’s Gate 3
In addition to new endings and an improved evil playthrough experience, we can expect bug fixes, performance enchantments, and stability improvements. Developers named a few significant bugs they plan to fix in the upcoming patch:
- Minthara movements and improved group following.
- Wyll’s romance welcome lines
- Disappearing Narrator lines from the Gortash and Dark Urge confrontation
Additionally, the modding community has long been asking for modding tools, and Larian reassured players that in Patch 7 for Baldur’s Gate 3, they will add official modding tools, letting you change up visuals, animations, sounds, stats, and more.
As a result, the upcoming patch will include many new features we can’t wait to see. However, we do not have any information on when patch 7 for Baldur’s Gate 3 will drop. Sadly, the Larian team didn’t give us any dates or timelines.
The Future of Baldur’s Gate
Despite the recent news that Larian studios won’t do any DLC and will not be a part of Baldur’s Gate 4, they also revealed some plans for patch 8! They work on cross-platform multiplayer, so you and your friends can play together regardless of the platform you own. Moreover, Larian plans to add the photo mode to Baldur’s Gate 3 in future updates, so we still are hopeful that more is coming to this fantastic game!
In the post, they also shared some photos from their community. They said: “Being given the chance to develop a game set in the Dungeons & Dragons universe has been a dream come true for all of us.”
Larian also explained their reasoning behind the decision and why they won’t be introducing any primary new narrative content to Baldur’s Gate 3 story. They said: “As an independent studio since 1996, we value the freedom to follow our creativity wherever it leads.”
After six years of Baldur’s Gate 3 development and the huge success of this independent studio, it’s not surprising that they would like to start their own IP. They revealed that they, in fact, work on TWO new projects and plan to do so continuously in the upcoming years.
