Unlike other rarities like Unique and Exalted, the Legendary Items do not drop from bosses and monsters in the endgame content. Instead, players have to craft them using the Unique Items with legendary potential. Legendary Items Overview in Last Epoch
A Legendary item is basically an enhanced version of a Unique item in Last Epoch. Unlike regular Unique Items, Legendary Items don’t drop from bosses and monsters at any point in the game. Acquiring every Legendary Equipment requires the crafting process. The Legendary Items have one to four affixes on them. However, it depends on the Unique with legendary potential. If there is one legendary potential on a unique item, it will guarantee one affix. Whereas, if there are four legendary potentials, then the crafted Legendary Item will have four affixes. With four affixes on a Legendary Item, it will have two prefixes and two suffixes. Moreover, each affix on a Legendary Item can range from tier 1 to tier 7. So, if you gain high-tier affixes on a Legendary Item, it will increase the overall potential of the gear piece.
In addition to the Unique, players can also combine Exalted Items with them to craft the Legendary Items. Unlike Unique, Exalted Items have Forging Potential, but it does not matter for merging with Unique to make legendaries. You can have 0 Forging Potential on an Exalted Item, and it will still work, as long as it is the same type as the unique. This process takes place specifically at the Eternity Cache structure, which players find within the Temporal Sanctum Dungeon. Another method to craft legendary items is to use the Nemesis System. It allows you to add the legendary potential or a legendary affix to a Unique Item. However, this method does not guarantee the legendary potential on a Unique Item. Moreover, it is only recommended for such Unique items with no legendary affixes that players want to turn into Legendaries.
How to Get Unique and Exalted Items (Components) in Last Epoch
Crafting the Legendary Items requires both a Unique and an Exalted Item of the same type. These are the main components to acquire a Legendary Item in Last Epoch. The Unique Items are powerful gear items that randomly drop from eliminating monsters. Moreover, there are boss-specific unique items that you can farm easily by defeating the respective bosses repeatedly.
The zones with higher area levels have a high chance of dropping Unique Items with legendary potential. The Eternity Cache is a large Monolith structure that players find in the next room after defeating Julra (boss) in the Temporal Sanctum dungeon. In short, players must complete the Temporal Sanctum dungeon before they can start crafting the Legendary Items. Accessing the Temporal Sanctum dungeon requires the “Temporal Sanctum Key”. It has a low chance of dropping randomly by eliminating the monsters. However, the Timeline Bosses within the Monolith of Fate have a higher chance of dropping this key item.
Once players have defeated Julra and completed the dungeon, they will be able to craft the Legendary Items by interacting with the Eternity Cache. Here are some simple steps to craft yourself a Legendary Item.
- Interact with the Eternity Cache while within the Divine Era.
- Place a unique item and the Exalted item of the same type into the respective slots.
- Select the “Seal Cache” option.
- Switch to the Ruined Era using the Temporal Shift and interact with the Eternity Cache.

NOTE: You can only craft one Legendary Item per Temporal Sanctum run.
If you wish to craft more Legendary Items, you must complete the Temporal Sanctum dungeon again. It means you have to get the Key for the dungeon again and defeat Julra as well. Furthermore, make sure to select the difficulty of the dungeon respective to the Unique you are trying to turn into a Legendary. Otherwise, you will not be able to turn the Unique into the Legendary.
Empower Unique with Legendary Potential with Nemesis System
The second method for crafting the Legendary Items requires an additional step to the previous method mentioned above. If you have a powerful Unique with no Legendary Potential, you can add Legendary Potential to it using the Nemesis System. What you need to do is add the unique with no legendary potential into the Egg of the Forgotten. You will usually find the Nemesis at higher levels with the Egg of the Forgotten inside.
After placing the Unique, you need to “Empower” the Nemesis. It will either add a Legendary Potential or a Legendary Affix to the Unique. However, it does not guarantee a legendary potential. So overall, it is a gamble that you can take to have a chance of turning your favorite Unique into a Legendary. If you become successful in attaining a Legendary Potential on the Unique, you can take it to the Eternity Cache to turn it into a Legendary Item.
