LG has proceeded with their plans of making their 2025 OLED lineup available in the United States. The first model to enter the U.S. market is the LG B5 OLED TV. With this entry-level model, LG intends to offer an affordable option to those who desire the OLED technology.

Of course, the affordability comes with its own tradeoffs. While it is an OLED TV, it is not a competitor for LG’s mid-range OLED TV models. In this post, let us discuss more about the LG B5 OLED TV, its pricing, availability, and more.

This OLED TV is fitted with a standard OLED panel. While the brightness of this panel is decent, it doesn’t go as high as that of the Evo panels, typically featured in higher-tier models. According to recent tests, the brightness of this panel is approximately half of that of the mid-range LG C5.

Processor and Software

The LG B5 runs on LG’s webOS 25. Using this software, it provides the user access to a wide array of apps and streaming services. The OLED TV makes use of the Alpha 8 Gen 2 processor to accomplish a respectable processing speed and image handling capabilities for a budget option.

According to the official website, the LG B5 TV sports a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. Understandably, this may be a major drawback for some, particularly gamers. However, with the inclusion of four HDMI 2.1 ports, the TV supports 4K at 120 Hz and variable refresh rate (VRR). This support ensures that the TV is a viable option for console gamers.

For now, LG’s strategy regarding the B5 OLED TV seems to vary based on the region. In the United Kingdom, the TV is available in four distinct sizes:

  • 55-inch- £1,699
  • 65-inch- £2,499

Fortunately, LG has confirmed that the 55-inch and 65-inch models are expected for the U.S. However, these options have yet to appear in U.S. retailers, even though they are currently available in Canada. We will be sure to bring you more news as their availability changes.
