No zombies, vampires, or werewolves this time—it’s just pure, random death from above. Just one strike is all it takes, and you’re toast even if you wear full plate armor.

Lightning storms are the new random night event that can happen after sunset. You’ll know it’s coming when the sky starts glowing with a blue hue around the horizon. It looks calm, but don’t trust it. These storms don’t spawn any enemies, but they bring constant lightning strikes that can randomly hit the ground around you (or even on you).
Why Are Lightning Storms So Dangerous?
Here’s the thing: if the lightning hits you, it won’t matter what gear you’re wearing—you’ll die instantly. So you can’t fight your way through this night like you can with monsters. You’ve got to survive it smart.
(It’s okay if you die, too; you’ll just unlock a new badge for getting struck by lightning.)
How To Stay Safe During a Lightning Storm in Dead Rails Roblox
- The easiest way to stay alive is to get under a roof. Any solid structure works—train cabins, fort buildings, or even a random shack. As long as there’s a roof between you and the sky, you’re safe.
- Using the Lightning Rod is a game-changer—it draws strikes toward itself and completely cancels the damage. Super useful if you need to move outside during the storm. You can usually find one in buildings, and there’s always a guaranteed lightning rod inside the Tesla Lab.
- If you’ve unlocked the Priest class, equip it. The Priest is immune to lightning damage. So you can just walk around during the storm like it’s just a light drizzle.
