The newest installment in the Yakuza franchise lets players take control of ex-Yakuza Goro Majima. You will embark on a pirate adventure as you build your crew, upgrade your ship, and regain lost memories. Fledgling pirates might find a lot of activities going on in the world. Therefore, you may want some tips and the best activities to focus on.

Upgrade Your Health and Attack
Early on in the game, you’ll unlock the upgrade abilities menu. Here, you will be able to increase your stats and unlock more moves for Majima to perform. However, at the start, it is recommended to upgrade your health and attack stats.
This is because health will let you survive fights. Additionally, a higher attack stat ensures that you send enemies flying in fewer hits. Both of these combined will let you survive longer fights and finish them faster.
Therefore, you cannot go wrong with upgrading your attack and health, especially because these stats affect both of your fighting styles.
Chain Hook and Pistol
The Sea Dog style uses these two pieces of equipment. These two are not only crucial to a lot of Sea Dog moves and combos, but they have general utility as well. The Chain Hook lets you gather any items, flying insects, and bugs around you.
Additionally, the Chain Hook also lets you grapple up to higher places in Honolulu. This is essential for reaching areas that would normally be inaccessible. The Pistol is also a great weapon to use for combat in general. With a fully charged shot, you can dispatch most normal enemy encounters instantly, saving you time and effort.
Lastly, the Chain Hook also has good utility in combat, allowing you to grapple with farther enemies to close distance faster.
Bounties
At a certain point in the game, you will unlock “Most Wanted” missions. These are essentially bounties that reward you for defeating a specific target. These missions give a large amount of cash, making them extremely useful for stocking up on money for upgrades, equipment, and items.
You will find these bounties marked on your map with a red handcuff symbol. This makes them easy to locate, though you might want to prepare before starting a bounty.
Collect Everything
Whether you are walking or sailing on a ship, you will notice various items for you to collect. Make sure to pick them up whenever possible. These items can range from components to seeds and bugs.
You will later need lots of these items for crafting and upgrading various gear. Therefore, it is advised that you start collecting them as soon as possible. Additionally, it never hurts to have more than you need. However, having less than required can be frustrating at times.
One more thing you should watch out for is Goro (the cat/tiger). Occasionally, Goro’s mouth will glow, indicating he has an item for you. Simply interact with him for Majima to take this item. Goro can get you random items after short intervals.
Equip Rings
Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii lets Majima wear 10 rings in total—one for each of his fingers. These rings give you stat upgrades and special abilities. Equipping them will definitely provide a significant boost to Majima’s fighting capabilities.
You obtain these rings via various methods, so don’t forget to equip them whenever you get a new one.
