Smile Again is one of the many substories available in Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii. It features a returning character from Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth in the form of Jeff. In the previous game, Jeff ran a taco store as a front for illicit activities. However, now he seems to have turned over a new leaf.
Starting and completing this substory is quite easy, and to top it off, you get a new crewmate as well. Read on if you want to know how to easily complete this substory.
How To Start and Complete Smile Again?
Smile Again can be started as early as Chapter 2. When you are exploring Honolulu, you can visit Jeff’s Taco Truck on Waikiki Street. The truck is in exactly in the same spot as it was in Infinite Wealth. A man will be trying to sell some illegal goods to Jeff. However, Jeff will turn him away, revealing that he has gone legit.
Jeff has left his life of crime because he had a child and did not want to raise them with dirty money. And so, he is trying to run a legitimate taco business. After you talk to Jeff and try a taco that has been made way too spicy, Majima will decide to follow Jeff’s progress.
To progress the substory after this, simply pass some time with an event like getting into a fight. Once you return, you can try a Special Taco. This one will not taste much better either, but at least it isn’t hazardous this time. You will then have to leave to pass more time. Once you return, you have to try another taco. After this, you will have to wait again. This wait will be a little longer, so complete more events than before.
Once you return, Jeff will tell you that he has been attending cooking classes. But then a man named Kirk arrives trying to tempt Jeff back into his life of crime. After he leaves, Majima will say that the tacos are getting better, and Jeff will reveal his past to you.
You will now have to wait one final time. Once you return to the taco shop, Jeff will claim he has perfected his recipe. Unfortunately, Kirk will return to spoil your fun with an army of thugs.
What do You Get from Completing Smile Again?
Jeff will thank you profusely after the men have been “convinced” to leave. He will then let you taste his “perfect taco”. Unfortunately, he messed up the recipe again, and the taco will be too hot. With this, the substory will be complete. Lastly, Jeff will also join Majima’s crew.
