Little Nightmares 3, the highly anticipated third entry in the iconic psychological horror franchise, finally has a confirmed release date. Although the series started as a passion project by Tarsier Studios, it eventually grew into one of the iconic franchises within the survival-horror genre. And with the third mainline title, the series is moving in a bold new direction. Unlike the past two entries in the series, Little Nightmare comes with support for 2-player co-op. This is the first time the series has offered a co-op mode in addition to its single-player aspect. The co-op mode is completely optional; however, it significantly enhances the game’s overall immersion factor.

In addition to the new co-op mode, the game is also making use of Unreal Engine 5, instead of UE4. As such, it’s also leaps and bounds ahead of its predecessors in the visuals department. However, the improved visuals come at the cost of significantly higher PC specifications. Here’s a look at the official PC system requirements for Little Nightmares 3.

Here are the official PC system requirements for Little Nightmares 3:

Minimum

  • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
  • OS: Windows 11
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-6500 or AMD Ryzen 3 1200
  • Memory: 8 GB RAM
  • Graphics: Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 or AMD Radeon RX 580
  • Additional Notes: Low 1080p @ 60 FPS

Recommended

  • Requires a 64-bit processor and operating system
  • OS: Windows 11
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-8400 or AMD Ryzen 5 1600
  • Memory: 12 GB RAM
  • Graphics: Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080, 8 GB or AMD RX 6800
  • Additional Notes: High 1080p @ 60 FPS

Surprisingly enough, despite using Unreal Engine 5, the game still supports decade-old GPUs like the GTX 1060 and RX 580. Although the game’s system specifications are much higher than Little Nightmares 2, it’s still quite low compared to other UE5 games. Even the CPU requirements are quite low for any modern UE5 title. Judging from the system specifications, Little Nightmares 3 seems to be quite well-optimized for PC. The only thing that might prove to be a bottleneck for lower-end PCs is the VRAM. UE5 games usually are quite heavy on VRAM usage. And based on Little Nightmare’s specifications, it seems the game requires a minimum of 6 GB VRAM.
