On Thursday, August 14, 2025, Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill filed a lawsuit against the popular gaming company Roblox. The state’s top prosecutor accused the company of creating a platform aimed at children with lax age verification features, which has allegedly led to it becoming a “breeding ground for sex predators.”

This comes days after the law firm Dolman Law made headlines for filing a lawsuit accusing Roblox of child exploitation. The gaming community has also been at odds with the company, with popular YouTubers speaking out against their policies and talking about a possible boycott.

What Are the Accusations Against Roblox?

In a post on X, Murrill explained why she is suing the gaming giant and claimed that the gaming platform is “overrun with harmful content” and predators. The Louisiana AG echoed a prior lawsuit by an Indiana family, accusing Roblox of prioritizing growth over child safety. Here is a relevant quote from Liz Murrill’s post on X:

“Today I’m suing Roblox – the #1 gaming site for children and teens – and a breeding ground for sex predators. Due to Roblox’s lack of safety protocols, it endangers the safety of the children of Louisiana. Roblox is overrun with harmful content and child predators because it prioritizes user growth, revenue, and profits over child safety.”

The 42-page lawsuit against the gaming giant claims that its safety protocols do little to stop adults from posing as minors and luring them into child exploitation. The complaint also singles out certain games on the platform for featuring inappropriate content. Titles such as “Public Bathroom Simulator Vibe” are named in the legal letter and were only removed from the platform after the suit was filed.

Roblox creator Schlep pointed out how the game was removed only after the Louisiana AG’s lawsuit in a post on X and criticized Roblox for not taking action against such titles earlier.

Schlep has been in the news as well after the platform banned him for his vigilante behavior. Schlep and his team create content about exposing child predators. In a recent statement, the company defended banning vigilantes like Schlep.
