Instead, if you want to optimize their growth, you need to pay close attention to their Motivations and Tags. So, without further ado, let’s take a look at all of the Motivations and Tags in Madden NFL 26.
All Madden NFL 26 Tags

The Tags determine how a player will react in a certain situation. Let’s refer to the table below to understand what Tags are available in the new game.
Tags | Effect |
---|---|
Bridge Player | Starters with these tags will eventually get replaced on the team by younger starters. Only non-QBs with an overall rating of 80 or lower and an age of 27 years or more qualify for this tag. |
Award Winner | Higher demand from teams if the player is a Free Agent that has acquired season-end rewards. |
Day 1 Starter | These players will usually become star players, and they are likely to replace older players even if their ratings are lower than the ones getting replaced. The game will assign this tag to players who are drafted within the first two rounds. |
Bridge QB | The same effect as Bridge Player, but for QBs. |
Future Starter | The tag will help players replace older team members. It is applicable to all non-QBs who have a league experience of four or more years. Another condition is that the player must be drafted within the first two rounds and have the required ratings to become a starter, but they simply cannot move past the bench. |
Franchise QB | This Tag marks the best QBs in the entire NFL. |
QB of the Future | The same effect as Day 1 Starter, but for QBs. |
Mentor | Older players with the Leader personality may get this Tag. Basically, these players can help younger teammates gain more experience if they play in the same position. |
Trade Target | Teams will apply this tag mostly for older players, who will probably go to the trading block. Teams will check the goals of veteran players before assigning this Tag. |
