If you want your in-game teams to reflect the most up to date depth charts and player ratings, you’ll have to update your rosters from time to time. EA will release these roster updates frequently once the season begins. Here’s how you can undertake the roster updates.
- Step 1: From the game’s main menu, choose the Creator Center.
- Step 2: After you’re in the Creator Center menu, choose the Edit Rosters option. At this stage, do not choose Download Rosters. Otherwise, you will download rosters that have been created by other users and not the official updates.
- Step 3: Once you’ve chosen the Edit Roster option, click on Update Roster. Doing so will immediately trigger a notification that will ask you whether you want to save your current roster before downloading the new one.
Make sure that you’re connected to the internet before undertaking such roster updates. Also, do not close down the game or the system before the download completes. This should enable you to avoid any errors and complete the update download seamlessly.
Are the Madden NFL Roster Updates Accurate?
It’s a bit of a hit and a miss when it comes to the accuracy of EA’s Madden roster updates. If past updates are any indication, you should double-check the depth charts of your team after every update. Check whether the ratings and depth charts are accurate. If not, you can decide to roll back to the earlier version. However, to do that, you need to save your previous roster version when downloading the latest update. So, we suggest always saving the last roster, in case EA’s latest update is rife with inaccuracies.
