While some trophies unlock during the main story, others require you to go off track and attempt things you normally wouldn’t. Fortunately, the Full Steam Ahead trophy is part of the main story, but completing the task to earn it is not essential for progressing further.

During Chapter 7 of the main story, you will be tasked with racing a steam engine train during the “Race the Train” mission objective. This mission has you race against the train to test your car’s speed. Beating the train isn’t required for story progression, but it is necessary if you want to unlock the trophy.
This, however, can be tricky given the average speed and handling of the car. To unlock the Full Steam Ahead trophy, it is important not to hold down the acceleration button for the entire race. The track is relatively straight with only a few sharp turns. Always position your car on the side where the next turn is coming. For example, if there is a slight right turn ahead, keep your car on the right side.
Finally, avoid driving on the grassy pasture, as it will affect your car’s speed. Staying on the road reduces the amount of turning required, helping you maintain a higher speed. If you keep this strategy throughout the race and manage to beat the train, you will unlock the Full Steam Ahead trophy.
