La Forza Del Destino (Chapter 12) in Mafia The Old Country Overview

La Forza Del Destino is the 12th chapter in Mafia The Old Country, and in it, players will have to kill both Baron Fontenella and Don Spadaro. This mission takes Enzo to the city of Palermo, where, with the help of a priest, he takes a secret passage and enters the Opera House to carry out his job. Many shootouts and beautiful cinematic moments follow as Enzo takes the revenge of his fallen friend.

Follow Cesare to the Vineyard

Chapter 1 in Mafia The Old Country begins with a cutscene where an informant tells Enzo Favara that Don Torrisi wants to see him. Once it ends, leave your apartment, take the stairs to your right to the courtyard, and meet Cesare waiting for you there. Then, take a brisk horse ride with him to the beautiful vineyards of Don Torrisi, where he awaits you in the cellar.

After reaching the destination, dismount from your horse and follow Cesare to find Luca’s dead body resting on a table and Don Torrisi waiting for you beside it. In the next cutscene, Don Torrisi will give you the task of assassinating both Don Spadaro and Baron Fontanella.

After that, your objective will be to speak to the driver regarding this mission of yours, but you will get interrupted by a cutscene where Isabella tells Enzo that she is pregnant and raises the stakes further.

Once it is over, make your way to the driver and tell him that you are ready to go to Palermo to carry out your mission. He will then tell you that Palermo will be heavily guarded by the enemy mob, but a friend of the Torrisi family will let you into the Opera House quietly.

Clear The Sewers of Guardie

A beautifully crafted cinematic lets you know that you have entered the city of Palermo, and La Forza Del Destino has truly begun. During the long cutscene, you will meet Father Clemente. He will then take you to your desired location through secret qanats under the city. Shortly after, a metal door will obstruct your path, and you will have to crawl under a small passage and open it from the other side for the priest to continue.

After following the priest some more, you will hear faint sounds coming from the secret passage in front of you. The spooked priest will then ask you to investigate the origins of the noise, and while doing that, you will stumble upon a section filled with the Guardie. If you wait and bide your time well, you will be able to catch all the guards isolated and take them down sneakily without alerting the others.

Get to the Royal Box

Once you have cleared the area, again, follow the priest, and he will tell you where the Baron will be, which is the Royal Box. After the cutscene, take the ladder, and it will take you straight to the Opera House. Now follow the linear path, and soon you will come across a room with more guards. Remember that staying undetected is of the utmost importance during this segment because the Baron will run away at the first sign of trouble.

Move past the the guards quietly and do not go anywhere near them. A ladder on the left side of the room will take you to a small wooden overbridge. Follow it and then take yet another ladder to reach the higher floor. Use the next bridge to cross the opera stage and reach the other side.

There, the objective marker will reside on a wooden door. Past it, you will find more guards. Simply follow the objective marker. You will eventually come across a security enforcer blocking your way.

Take him down quietly and keep going forward. On the following walk to the objective marker, you won’t meet much resistance since the areas will be mostly empty. Once you arrive at the double wooden door decorated with flowers and flora, open it to find Baron Fontenella enjoying the show. During the cutscene where Enzo kills the Baron, he will be spotted by Don Spadaro.

Also, the corpse of the baron will fall off the balcony and alert everyone in the Opera House to your presence. This will mark the end of the stealth segment, as you will find yourself in the middle of shootouts from this point forward.

Stop Don Spadaro

After the cutscene, you will be attacked by the enemy forces. Once you have cleared out the first wave, move on to the dining room to find the second. The gunfights will be long, but keep moving towards the objective marker while taking out enemies systematically, and eventually you will reach the secret passage through which you entered the Opera House.

Climb down to find Spadaro running away. Kill some more gangsters with your trusty revolver and move through the next stony corridors. After crawling past a small passage and taking down some more of his men, you will confront the fleeing Don in a beautifully eerie church. The following cutscene then shows you Spadaro trying to stab Enzo, which will lead to a boss fight.

In the battle, your options are pretty standard: you will get to Slash, Thrust, Strike, Dodge, and Parry. Mafia The Old Country does not focus on combat or boss fights, so the overall experience remains quite normal. Once Spadaro reaches below fifty, a brief cutscene will trigger, after which the fight will go on. Once you have drained the Don of his health completely, Enzo will finally kill him in a well-made cinematic.

Visit Luca’s Grave

After that, Priest Clemente will save you from the guards, and you will find yourself back in Villa Torrisi. Then, Enzo will give the dead don’s ring to Torrisi. Once all of that is over, visit Luca’s grave, where a last cutscene marks the end of Chapter 12 in Mafia The Old Country.
