Mage Arena may seem like a standard PvP game at first, but there’s a lot of strategy underneath that you uncover as you rise up to higher Titles. The games quickly distance themselves from plain-old shootouts and become battles of attrition where each team is vying for the other’s flag.

Flags are an important part of any match in Mage Arena. There are tons of flags spread across the arena, and your goal is to capture as many as you can to make your way to the enemy’s flag and then capture that as well. Flags in Mage Arena work as standard “Capture the Flag” flags. You enter the area of the flag, and you capture it by holding it for a while uncontested. There are tons of flags across the map, and they fall into one of three categories: your team’s base flag, the enemy team’s base flag, and the neutral flags.

If you lose your flag, you lose. If you capture the enemy team’s flag, you win. The idea is simple, but what purpose do the neutral flags serve? The neutral flags are flags that you capture to acquire resources. Each time you capture a neutral flag, you’re given resources that you can use to craft items. The items you craft then make you stronger, which makes your approach to the enemy base flag even easier.

It is therefore highly recommended to form a strategic path to the enemy flag. Capture neutral flags along the way to the enemy flag to get stronger, and then lead the assault on the enemy base to capture and win. It is also important to deny neutral flags to your enemies. Giving neutral flags away only makes them stronger and a greater threat to your base.
