Mage Arena: Golem Guide

Teammates can be unreliable at times in Mage Arena, and this is where the Golem NPC summon comes into play.

Defending your base in Mage Arena as a solo defender is an unenviable position. Your team rallies off to lead the assault, often sidetracked along the way, and you’re left at the mercy of the enemy team, raining hell down on you. You can’t do much in such cases, but there are ways to make your defense stronger.

One common method is to use spells such as Dark Blast and Firewall to create funnels and kills, but this requires an in-depth knowledge of the map and enemy attack patterns. Instead, what you could do is use the Golem.

The Golem is a summonable NPC that fights by your side. Boasting rock-like features and crystal eyes, the Golem is a force of nature that can tank enemy attacks with ease. This is one of the best summons in the game, and if you wish to know more, keep reading our article.

Before you summon the Golem, you need to craft it. The steps below should help with that:

  • Acquire 1x Rock and 1x Crystal. You find these materials by exploring the map.
  • Once you have the materials, head back to base.
  • Go to the Crafting Table and interact with it.
  • Combine the 1x Rock and 1x Crystal to craft the Golem.
  • Pick up and drop the Golem with the ‘G’ key. This will summon the Golem.

Once the Golem has been summoned, it will follow you around as a companion. The Golem’s body is made of rock, and it is incredibly tanky. It also shoots out crystals at your enemies to chip away at their HP and distract them. The damage is pretty moderate, so the players it attacks are forced to deal with it, making it the perfect distraction when you’re outnumbered.

Since the Golem is fairly slow, we recommend using this NPC to defend sites and hold ground. The summon is especially useful if your teammates are unreliable and you need the extra body on-site.
