2025 is stacked with major video game releases but here’s a list of the titles that don’t have a release date as of yet.

2025 appears to be the year of video games. There are several releases on the horizon, some with confirmed release dates, while others are still awaiting confirmation. By the term “major,” we refer to the games that belong to a AAA company and appear promising. So, the game you are looking for may not be a part of our list if they don’t fulfill these criteria.
Video Games in 2025 With No Release Date
The list that we are about to present to you includes only five titles. So, not all games that qualify for this list can be included. Additionally, the included titles have no release date at the time of writing except for the confirmation that these games will probably be out this year. So, there’s a chance that some of these games may receive a confirmed release date at the time of your reading. The list of such major video games is as follows:
- GTA 6
- Crimson Desert
- Ghost of Yotei
- Mafia: The Old Country
- Dying Light: The Beast
Those who wish to learn more about these games can scroll below.
1) GTA 6

It is safe to say that the upcoming installation in the Grand Theft Auto franchise is one of the most anticipated games in the industry in the last few years. The last time we received a new title in the GTA series was back in 2013. Now, GTA 6 has been under development for a long time.
Following the teaser leaks, we finally received the official trailer for the game at the end of 2023. Since then, things were quiet until the publisher, Take-Two Interactive, claimed that the game is expected to come out in the fall of 2025. We still don’t know the date, but hopefully, there will be no delays.
2) Crimson Desert

Players invested in Black Desert Online will know how much Crimson Desert is worth the hype. Pearl Abyss hasn’t disappointed its player base in the past and seems to be on the same track for the future. Their upcoming title was revealed a few years ago.
We have only received bits of information since then. However, the game appears set for a 2025 release window. It looks like an interesting mix of games like The Witcher and Assassin’s Creed in some ways.
3) Ghost of Yotei

Hundreds of years after the events of Ghost of Tsushima, Sucker Punch takes the story to another part of Japan. This time around, however, it doesn’t seem to follow a fallen Samurai. In fact, even the protagonist in the new game is female, which is bound to give players a fresh perspective.
I am excited to see the combat return, along with better stealth compared to the last installment, because AC Shadows outdid Ghost of Tsushima in terms of stealth. Once more, we are aware that the game can come out any time in 2025, but the date is still a little blurry.
4) Mafia: The Old Country

The Mafia series is returning to the industry with a new installment. Mafia: The Old Country will take to Sicily and have a much older setting compared to other games in the franchise. Since the game takes place in the 1900s, there will be some significant changes to the gameplay aspect as well. The story is also expected to be mature, as the hallmark of the series. The team has revealed a 2025 release window but hasn’t given us a date yet.
5) Dying Light: The Beast

After the first Dying Light and The Following DLC, Kyle Crane disappeared from the series. The second game in the series referenced him several times, foreshadowing his imminent return. The Beast will set up a return stage for the former GRE secret agent.
This new game has enhanced visuals while carrying Kyle’s story forward. Fans who are excited to see him come back to the franchise will have to wait slightly longer for a confirmed release date by Techland.
