How To Play The Punisher in Marvel Rivals?
The Punisher’s Mobility
When it comes to mobility, The Punisher won’t move quickly like other characters. With such a massive arsenal to carry, it is understandable that he is one of the slowest characters in the game. This can be balanced with one of his abilities, Vantage Connection.
It allows him to rapidly travel from one area to another using a cable and hook. One of his strongest abilities, Culling Turret, allows you to place a turret in front of him and deals massive damage to anyone within the range. However, you can’t move when using the turret.
The Punisher’s Survivability
Another weakness of The Punisher is his health bar. His two primary abilities, Culling Turret and Vantage Connection have a cooldown of 20s, which is way longer than usual. With a minimal HP of 275 and a longer cooldown duration for some of his abilities, it is difficult to survive the battle unless you master all his weapons and abilities.
When properly used, his passive ability Warrior’s Gaze increases your chances of survival. It allows you to see your enemies through objects for 3 seconds.
The Punisher Playstyle and Combos
The Punisher is one of the strongest and the most powerful characters in Marvel Rivals, who can counter many powerful characters. Since The Punisher is a hit-scan duelist, you should aim carefully to take out the enemies efficiently.
This hero is best in both range and close combat attacks. If you got yourself locked in a close combat fight, switch to your shotgun to gain the upper hand. When surrounded by enemies or low in health, use Scourge Grenade to block the enemy’s vision and escape from the area.
Vantage Connection can be used for several purposes such as escaping from a dangerous area or placing yourself in a perfect advantageous spot. When charged up, unleash your ultimate ability ‘Final Judgement’ to take out the nearby enemies with Gatling guns and missiles. Prepare for the Final Judgement only when you have nearby enemies.
Best Team Composition With The Punisher in Marvel Rivals
When it comes to the best team composition for The Punisher, Rocket Racoon is undoubtedly a top choice. Rocket Racoon, one of the best strategists, can be paired with The Punisher to light up the arena. Infinite Punishment, the team-up ability of The Punisher and Rocket Racoon allows The Punisher to fire infinite ammo with a faster firing rate.
Additionally, you can include Winter Soldier in your team, as he also benefits from Infinite Punishment. The guns blazing can be further powered up with Rocket Racoon’s ultimate ability C.Y.A., which grants a damage boost to allies.
The Punisher Counters in Marvel Rivals
The Punisher is a heavy duelist, who has slower base movement. It is a huge disadvantage for the weapon master. As a result, any character with high mobility can easily counter The Punisher.
Since characters like Spiderman, Star-Lord, and Iron Man are difficult to track and will move quickly, they can launch surprise attacks against The Punisher. He will also be in dangerous situations when facing Hela and Namor, as they can easily eliminate him by landing their shots precisely on him.
Tips and Tricks To Play The Punisher in Marvel Rivals
Follow these tips and tricks to effectively play with The Punisher in Marvel Rivals:
- Take advantage of your basic weapons. Switch between the automatic rifle and shotgun based on your target distance. The weapon-switching mechanism allows you to eliminate enemies quickly without having to reload during fights.
- As using the Culling Turret ability restricts your movement, use it only when you are protected by your allies or placed in a perfect spot.
- Use the Scourge Grenade or Vantage Connection to quickly escape the area when surrounded by enemies.
- As The Punisher relies on his guns instead of supernatural powers, you should master the aiming. You can increase your aim and precision by training yourself in the Practice Range.
