Marvel Rivals has just stepped into its Season 1 after an extremely successful Season 0 that saw a massive influx of players. However, if you were a console player, chances are your gameplay sessions have not been extremely fair. More specifically, certain players used adapters that would let them use a keyboard and mouse on consoles without the system detecting it.

For consoles, this severely compromises the integrity of the game. In a recent Dev Vision, developer NetEase Games mentioned that they will now severely penalize players who use keyboard and mouse adapters to play Marvel Rivals on consoles. Marvel Rivals will actively issue harsh penalties to players who use keyboard and mouse adapters on consoles. If you were a Marvel Rivals player on a console, you must have faced these players every once in a while.

In their latest statement, the developers made it clear that they will not tolerate this unjust behavior, and they will issue severe penalties for the same. In the post, the developers said:

“Penalties for users of keyboard and mouse adapters may include temporary or permanent account suspensions, removal from leaderboards, or other punishments depending on the circumstances.”

The nature of the penalties themselves seems to be severe, even leading to permanent account suspensions. This should serve as a sufficient warning since permanent bans are rarely reverted.

How Will Marvel Rivals Detect Keyboard And Mouse Adapters on Consoles?

Marvel Rivals seems to have produced a tool that can accurately detect the usage of these external mouse and keyboard adapters. In their statement, the developers said:

“We have forged a strong detection tool and couple with the keen judgment of our watchful human eyes to accurately identify those using keyboard and mouse adapters.”

This also suggests that software detection is likely not going to be the only method. Human reviews might also be a part of the process, though extensive details about this is not yet available.

Certain software and hardware exist that allow you to use a keyboard and mouse to play on consoles, without the game being able to detect it.
