Megabonk is an action roguelite that throws you into randomly generated maps with the goal of killing all enemies and getting stronger. As you go about exploring these maps, you’ll undoubtedly stumble upon shrines. These are ominous in appearance, but if you interact with them, they all grant special effects that change your runs.

There are eight shrines that you can find in Megabonk, each with its own unique effect. If you’ve stumbled upon a shrine and don’t know what its effects might be, this guide is for you.

Boss Curse (Bloody Shrine)This shrine will duplicate the boss you’re fighting, adding a copy of the boss to your fight. This will make the boss fight much harder, but you get double the rewards in return.
Charge ShrineCharge this shrine to avail a pick from three random stat boosts.
Golden Charge ShrineInteract with and charge this shrine to obtain three Legendary stat upgrades.
Greed ShrineThis shrine will increase the money you earn, but will also make the game harder to compensate. The difficulty will increase 5 percent per activation.
Moai ShrineThe shrine will offer gifts you can pick from.
Bandit StatueInteracting with this shrine will spawn the Bandit boss, beating whom will unlock Bandit as a character you can buy. Take note that you have to beat Bandit with the Dexecutioner weapon to unlock.

All in all, shrines in Megabonk act as gameplay modifiers that change the experience, making each run in the game feel fresh. We recommend seeking them out and activating them all, even if they make the run more difficult. The rewards that await you at the end are well worth your while.
