Megabonk has many stats that can be optimized properly. Here are the stats explained briefly for new players.

Being a roguelike, or even a “survivorlike” due to its similarity to Vampire Survivors, Megabonk’s stats are not just numbers. Some of them are additive or give you a diminished stat at every level. Nevertheless, many of the stats in Megabonk can scale infinitely or have very fast soft caps that will make the stat useless to upgrade after it reaches a certain limit. This guide will mention all the important stats and some that don’t provide enough to the player as an investment for the late game. Here are all the stats explained.
All Megabonk Stats Explained

Stats in Megabonk are simple on the front, but many of them provide different numbers when you upgrade them. While Stats like HP are directly added, armor upgrades are diminished very early on. So, here is the stat list according to what they do and provide to the player:
Stats | Description |

Max HP | Increases your HP directly. Direct scaling but very less value in the game. If HP depletes, the run is over. |
Overheal | Extra health that ignores armor values. Stacks double of Max HP. |
Shield | A shield that will regenerate after not taking any damage for a while. Has a soft cap. |
Damage Multiplier | Direct Multiplier to existing damage. Scales infinitely. |
Armor | Decreases HP depleted. And, has a 94% Soft Cap. However, it will give diminishing numbers very early on. |
Evasion | Chance to evade an attack. Has a 94% Soft Cap. However, it will give diminishing numbers very early on. |
Lifesteal | You have a chance to heal for 1 HP (for every enemy hit). |
Thorns | 1:1 damage return from any source of damage taken. However, the game has very less thorn builds. You can use thorns against aegis, but not shields. |
Damage | Direct increase to your weapon damage. Scales infinitely. However, multipliers are mostly used to increase damage. |
Crit Chance | Chance to deal double damage. Increases crit damage after reaching 100% Scales infinitely. Not affected by Mega Crit chance. |
Attack Speed | Increases the duration of your buffs. |
Projectile Count | Increases projectiles for your character. Scales infinitely, but cannot be visually seen due to graphic limitations (Projectiles will still deal damage but cannot be seen.) |
Projectile Bounces | Your projectiles will bounce after hitting an enemy. It has no soft cap, but cannot be seen visually due to the graphics limiting. |
Size | Increases the size of the weapon, increasing its hitbox as well. Scales infinitely, till what you can see. |
Projectile Speed | Increases the size of the weapon, increasing its hitbox as well. Scales infinitely, till what you can see. |
Duration | Increases duration of effects, items and weapons. |
Damage to Elites | Deals more damage to elites. |
Knockback | Increases all stats of enemies and the amount. Soft cap at 600% as max enemy count reaches around that point. |
Movement Speed | Increases the speed of projectiles thrown, but does not increase damage output for most weapons except flying knives. |
Jump Height | Adds directly to increase jump height. However, you also get an increase to your own character’s knockback. |
Luck | Increases the speed at which your character moves. As you progress through levels, your movement speed will be penalized. |
Difficulty | Increases the probability of rare items. Scales infinitely, but diminishing effect for every level up. |
Pickup Range | Increases your range at which you pick up exp and items. |
XP Gain | Increases XP Gain. But, limited to 10x of base XP. |
Gold Gain | Multiplier to your gold coins obtained. Scales infinitely. |
Silver Gain | Multiplier to your silver coins obtained. Scales infinitely. |
Elite Spawn Increase | You will meet more Elites if you increase this stat. However, it has a soft cap at 95% and will provide diminishing chances. |
Powerup Multiplier | Increases the chance for Chest drops. Scales infinitely. |
Powerup Drop Chance | Increases chance for Chest drops. Scales infinitely. |
Best Stat Upgrades For Megabonk
The best stat upgrades that you should look out for are XP gain, Elite Spawn increase, and Power Drop chance. Additionally, all the crit multipliers and damage will help you clear out maps faster.
