You unlock the Energy Core item in Megabonk by defeating two final bosses in the game. This means you have to defeat a final boss in two runs. It doesn’t have to be successive, nor does it have to be on the same map. As long as you register two final boss kills in the game, you’ll be able to unlock the Energy Core item. Since the Energy Core is a permanent progression reward, you’ll be able to use it from then on in your subsequent runs.

How To Use the Energy Core in Megabonk

Now that you have the Energy Core item you were desperately seeking, it is time to put it to use. The Energy Core is one of the strongest items in the game, and this is largely due to the cooldown reduction it offers.

The cooldown reduction allows your skills to recharge quickly, letting you use them quickly in succession. This means that if you use it with healing skills, you can effectively have infinite HP with consistent healing. This is ideal for tank builds in the game, and we recommend putting it to use with Sir Oofie. You could also put the reduction to use on characters that require buff skills. Use the reduced cooldown to your advantage in late-game situations to cross the finish line.
