Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater throws you deep into a Cold War conspiracy, and Volgin is the man at the center of it all. Throughout the course of the game, you’re exposed to and learn more about Volgin and his GRU forces. His evil actions earn your ire, and it reaches a point where you can’t wait to get your hands on the Soviet Army General.

Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater fulfils your wish by letting you humble the cocky general twice, but the second boss encounter is quite challenging as Volgin mounts the Shagohod. If you’re struggling on this second encounter, our guide is here to help.

As stated earlier, you face off against Volgin twice in Metal Gear Solid Delta Snake Eater. The second time around, however, he’s mounted on the remains of the Shagohod. With his arms charging up the electric wires of the Shagohod, he roars and drives around the arena, fighting you and Eva at the same time. To make matters worse, you’re on foot, and you’re certainly not faster than the other two people on the field.

But we’ve got just the trick for you to beat him. You can defeat him in a few ways, but the most optimal way to do so is with the RPG Rocket Launcher. As you run about the arena, Eva plays decoy and draws the attention of Volgin. When she does so, you need to pull out your RPG and aim it right at the wheels of the Shagohod.

The Shagohod has two sets of wheels, and they look like drilling cones. Shoot BOTH sets of wheels, and this will bring the Shagohod to a halt. Since Volgin has his arms tied to the wires, he’s then defenseless, and you can fire away at him for about 5 seconds. Shoot at Volgin to deal damage, after which the Shagohod will resume movement. Repeat this step about 5 times, and you’ll beat the boss. Take note that you have only about 12 rockets with you, so make every shot count.
