Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection is easily one of the biggest surprise announcements of 2025. The series started as a spinoff to the mainline Monster Hunter games, and for a long time, had been overlooked as a niche JRPG with a Monster Hunter skin. However, with the increasing popularity of the Monster Hunter IP, it’s the perfect time for the Stories franchise to take center stage.
With the recent gameplay trailer, Capcom not only showcased quite a few new and returning monsters in MHS3, but also, revealed a ton of additional details regarding the game’s release. For starters, MHS3’s pre-order went live alongside the new trailer. Furthermore, Capcom also revealed the game’s pricing, system requirements, and much more.

When Can You Pre-Load Monster Hunter Stories 3?
Monster Hunter Stories 3 is scheduled to released on March 13, 2026. And according to the game’s pre-order page on PlayStation 5, the game will be available to pre-download from March 11, 2026. You’re essentially getting 48 hours to pre-load the game on PS5. As for Xbox Series X|S and PC versions of MHS3, the pre-load schedule hasn’t been revealed yet.
However, based on Capcom’s past releases on Xbox and PC, we can speculate that pre-loads on those platforms will go live the same time as PS5. Lastly, for the Nintendo Switch 2 version of Monster Hunter Stories 3, we do have a confirmed pre-load date, i.e., March 6, 2026. The pre-load date comes courtesy of the game’s pre-order page on Switch 2.

What Is the File Size of Monster Hunter Stories 3?
According to the game’s system specifications, MHS3 requires roughly 50 GB of storage on PC. Based on past Capcom releases. the same should hold true for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. On Switch 2, the game might have lower storage requirements. However, as of writing this article, Capcom has not revealed the file size for the Switch 2 version of MHS3.
Is Monster Hunter Stories 3 Coming To the Nintendo Switch?
No, Monster Hunter Stories 3 is coming exclusively to current-generation consoles, including Switch 2. This is primarily due to the fact that MHS3 is built using the latest iteration of the RE Engine. The same engine also powers titles like Street Fighter 6, Monster Hunter Wilds, and the upcoming Resident Evil Requiem.
