Farcaster in Monster Hunter Wilds is your consumable Get Out of Jail Free card. Be it during exploration or a tricky fight against a formidable foe, you can use the item to instantly transport yourself to the nearest camp. This is especially useful when you want to avoid getting carted/fainted during a monster hunt.
So how can you get this extremely useful item in Monster Hunter Wilds and how do you best use it?
How To Get Farcaster in Monster Hunter Wilds
Farcaster can be crafted in MH Wilds from Smokenut and Exciteshroom. In the Crafting List, it appears under Traps/Offense at No. 27.
You can carry at most 1x Farcaster in your Item Pouch during your hunts/expeditions. Once you use it, it will be consumed, meaning you will have to craft a new one for the next time.

How To Use Farcaster in Monster Hunter Wilds
“Call for a wingdrake to transport you to the nearest camp. Can also be used during combat” – In-game description.
The bottom-right item wheel will show you the Farcaster during your expeditions/hunts in MH Wilds. You will need to scroll to it and press the interact button to trigger the transport. Once you use the Farcaster, you become invulnerable and are instantly taken to the nearest camp. You can use this chance to replenish necessary supplies and take a breather before diving headlong into battle once again.
When it comes to the difference between Fast Travel and Farcaster, the basic mechanic is largely the same – you are instantly transported from one point to another. The major difference is that the former allows you to choose where you are going to while the latter takes you to the nearest camp.
To use Fast Travel, you will have to do a couple of steps that require time – time that you may not have as an angry Rey Dau shoots a thunderous rail gun at you. Farcaster is the safer option there as it is triggered with the press of a single button.
