The Guardian Ebony Odogaron is a unique monster that does not require sustenance to survive in the wild. Unlike natural creatures, it does not reproduce and only feeds on Wyvern Milk to gain energy. 

This monster attacks relentlessly with its remarkably well-developed claws and tail. It usually tries to corner its prey to prevent escape. This hints at a semblance of intelligence in these creatures.

You will first encounter the Guardian Ebody Odogaron during the “Full Circle” main story quest.  This is part of the chapter three story in Monster Hunter Wilds. Progressing through the storyline to this point will unlock the initial battle with this artificial beast.

How To Beat Guardian Ebony Odogaron in MH Wilds

To be one step ahead of Guardian Ebony Odogaron, here is a quick rundown of its movesets:

  • Backward Bite- While you are attacking at the back, there is a chance that it will turn around and bite you. Keep in mind the signs where he looks behind and starts growling.
  • Forward Bite – When Guardian Ebony Odogaron growls and pulls back its head, prepare to dodge it as it will bite forward. This is also followed by a second bite after a brief delay. 
  • Foreleg Swing – Prepare to dodge when the monster steps back and raises its right foreleg for a swing attack. This is then followed by another attack with its right foreleg. 
  • Forleg Swing and Bite – A combo attack that follows the animations in order. 
  • Jump and Spin – While Guardian Ebony Odogaron is facing its target, it will jump and face the opposite direction. Afterward, it will raise its tail and spin around, hitting multiple targets within range.
  • Projectile Attack – The artificial beast will jump and shoot projectiles in its mouth.
  • Tail Slam – While the monster is facing its target, it will pull back its body and then slide its tail on the ground to attack. It will then do a backflip to reposition itself. It can shoot projectiles after the Tail Slam when enraged.
  • Tail Swing – When the monster is facing away from its targets, it will raise its tail and swing it from right to left and damage anyone within range.
