Herbivore Carapaces is one of the Materials in Monster Hunter Wilds that players have trouble finding in the wild. Unfortunately, it doesn’t spawn in a lot of places and regions. However, those who know the tricks to farm it will have the upper hand in the hunt for this item. It belongs to the Rarity 6 tier, which naturally means its drop rate is usually lower than other Materials.
Where To Find Herbivore Carapaces In Monster Hunter Wilds?
To start, players must head over to Windward Plains. This is where you will find herds of Ceratonoth. It is the name for the monsters shown in the image above. They look like dinosaurs. The sheer size and scales might intimidate you, but the best part about them is that they are not aggressive at all! Ceratonoth won’t even attack in self-defense.
The best way to hunt down one of these creatures is by using a ranged weapon because they travel in herds and run away pretty quickly when you get aggressive. While they may not run away as you walk past them, as soon as you start attacking one of them, they will look for a means to escape the attacks.
We suggest that you visit Windward Plains in High Rank to obtain the Herbivore Carapaces because that’s the only rank at which they are dropped as a loot reward. Moreover, make sure to wait until Daytime in your tent if the herds are not spawning. Since the drop itself is rare, defeating Ceratonoth might also drop Raw Meat at times instead of Herbivore Carapaces but there is no way around it so far.

This Rarity 6 Material is pretty useful in crafting certain Armor pieces and Talismans. The Armor pieces that require Herbivore Carapaces are given below:

- Death Stench Heel α
- Doshaguma Mail α
- Doshaguma Mail β
