The Monster Hunter Wilds TU2 has introduced both variants of Lagiacrus to the game. Both its normal and Tempered variants are available in the game, and they can be considered to be late-game content. This monster is a unique fight and is one of the more entertaining ones that you can possibly encounter in the whole game. There are even segments on underwater fighting with Lagiacrus, which is a one-of-a-kind combat in MH Wilds.
In this article, we will explain how you can easily get Normal and Tempered Lagiacrus investigations in Monster Hunter Wilds. The overall process is straightforward, but you need to complete the related story quest first.
How to Get Normal And Tempered Lagiacrus Investigation in Monster Hunter Wilds
Both normal and Tempered variants of Lagiacrus will start appearing only after you have beaten its Trembling Blue Currents quest in Monster Hunter Wilds. Once this is done, the monster will start appearing normally in the overworld. At this point, you can save it as an investigation or even start a quest for it immediately.
Here are the requirements to unlock and get normal and Tempered Lagiacrus investigations in Monster Hunter Wilds:
- Reach HR 31 and complete the Trembling Blue Currents quest.
- Look at the Scarlet Forest region to see if any variant of Lagiacrus has spawned.
- Ensure you have the required amount of Guild Points to save any variant of the investigation.
You will need 300 Guild Points to save a normal Lagiacrus investigation in Monster Hunter Wilds. Similarly, 400 Guild Points will be needed to save a Tempered Lagiacrus investigation.
When and Where Does Lagiacrus Appear in Monster Hunter Wilds?
Any variant of Lagiacrus will only spawn in the Scarlet Forest region in the Windward Plains of Monster Hunter Wilds. Note that the monster does not always appear, and is a chance spawn. That said, we have found the monster to spawn more during the following conditions:
- Daytime during the Fallow season.
- Daytime during the Inclemency (Sandtide) season.
You can check whether Lagiacrus has spawned by cycling through all the regions on your map. In case the monster has not appeared, you can simply head to your Pop-Up Camp and change the weather conditions till it eventually appears.
Initially, Lagiacrus appears as an 8-star difficulty and 3-star strength monster. Once you defeat this, the strength gradually increases till 6-star strength. However, a Tempered Lagiacrus appears as a 7-star difficulty and 5-star strength monster, which increases to 8-star strength with subsequent hunts.
How to Save Normal and Tempered Lagiacrus Investigations in Monster Hunter Wilds
Once any variant of Lagiacrus appears in the map, you can simply save it directly from the map:
- Spot any variant of Lagiacrus on the map and press the Confirm button on the region.
- Next, navigate to the Lagiacrus quest and press Confirm again.
- Spend the required amount of Guild Points and then save the investigation.
When you save a Lagiacrus investigation of any variant, you will be able to undertake the hunt three times. The count is irrespective of whether you successfully complete the hunt or fail it. You can access these hunts any time, without worrying about the weather conditions or time in Monster Hunter Wilds.
