Novacrystal is one of the minerals in Monster Hunter Wilds, which is pretty hard to get. Not only does it spawn later on in the game, but even then, it’s a rare occurrence. So, players may not know how to obtain the Novacrystal in the game.
That’s what we are here to change with the help of this guide. Just like several other minerals in the game, this Lightcrystal is also used to craft and upgrade weapons and armor. So, one should not overlook its importance, as it is used in the best metalworks in Monster Hunter Wilds.
Obtaining Novacrystal in Monster Hunter Wilds
Much like Iron Ore and other minerals, Novacrystal can also be obtained using one popular method: Mining. The Mining Outcrops in any region will let you walk up to them and interact to mine random minerals. There are plenty of them located in all regions. No legends will mark these outcrops for you on the map, but they are all located in and around the same areas every time.

So far, we know of only two regions having a high spawn rate for Novacrystal – Scarlet Forest and Ruins of Wyveria. There is a catch, though. You won’t get Novacrystal when mining here, whenever you want. You will need to unlock High Rank in-game.
Even at the desired rank, the drop rate for this mineral is too low. It is very rare, and nobody has access to them easily. Thankfully, you won’t require a lot of them throughout the game, not until you have progressed far enough anyway. You can also farm this mineral by clearing out each outcrop, fast-traveling to a different region, and then coming back to mine the respawned minerals again.
