Scarred Scales in Monster Hunter Wilds are a form of Equipment Material that helps you craft armor and other equipment in the game. However, this material is difficult to find and cannot be obtained by simply exploring the map. To find the Scarred Scales, you have to talk to a few NPCs and engage in certain activities. In this guide, we shall discuss how to get the Scarred Scale Equipment Material in Monster Hunter Wilds.

As stated earlier, the Scarred Scale is not available out in the wild. Instead, you have to obtain this item through trade. There are two NPCs that you can talk to and then trade Scarred Scales with. The first NPC that offers Scarred Scales for trade is Gawdygog in the Wudwud Hideout.
You’ll find this hideout in the Scarlet Forest area 14. Explore this area, and you will stumble across the Wudwud Hideout. Head over to the hideout and talk to Gawdygog to get the item for 10x Ancient Wyvern Coins.
The other NPC that can approach for the same is Sekka, found in the base camp near the Peaks of Accord. Sekka will trade the Scarred Scale for a Large Goldenscale Vase.
The last way of obtaining this item is through the Material Retrieval activity. To do so, head over to Apar in the Peaks of Accord and enlist Apar as a material retriever. Apar will then retrieve items for you regularly, one of which may be the Scarred Scale.
